Location: Tallahassee, FL | On-site, five days per week

Introduction:

Defined Software Development is connecting with experienced Systems Administrators for current and upcoming consulting opportunities. This role supports enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, Windows and Linux servers, and application hosting environments, with an emphasis on reliability, security, performance, and automation.

Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot server infrastructure and cloud services.

• Monitor systems and applications for availability, performance, and security.

• Configure servers, support upgrades, and coordinate infrastructure changes with technical teams and vendors.

• Deploy and manage AWS, Microsoft Azure, and other cloud services.

• Support Windows Server, IIS, Linux administration, and patching.

• Troubleshoot network connectivity, DNS, file sharing, and permissions.

• Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, Git repositories, and pipelines.

• Document and automate administrative tasks.

• Recommend improvements to infrastructure performance, operating costs, and efficiency.

• Support developers and other IT teams with application hosting and infrastructure needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 5–8 years of experience in information systems engineering or a related field.

• 3–5 years of infrastructure or network experience supporting systems operations, maintenance, and administration.

• 2–3 years of professional AWS experience.

• 2–3 years of experience with Windows Server, IIS administration, and network communications.

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, Samba/CIFS file sharing, and NTFS permissions.

• Strong Linux administration skills, including Red Hat, Ubuntu, and patch management.

• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues, prioritize work, and communicate effectively.

• Must reside in Tallahassee or the surrounding area and work on-site.

• Availability for after-hours, weekend, and on-call support as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Microsoft platform administration.

• Experience supporting API management, IT service automation, and batch processing tools.
