JDE World Programmer Analyst

Introduction: My client, located north of Boston, MA is looking for a Programmer Analyst to support and enhance the technical backbone of their manufacturing and distribution operations. In this role, you will design, build, test, and maintain JD Edwards (JDE) applications, custom programs, reports, and database solutions that keep our business running smoothly and efficiently. You’ll partner directly with end users and stakeholders to translate real business needs into reliable, effective technical solutions—driving enhancements, automation, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new programs, reports, files, interfaces, and screens within JD Edwards EnterpriseOne or World.
  • Modify and enhance existing JDE objects to improve functionality or resolve issues.
  • Build and maintain standalone databases, applications, and custom reporting solutions outside the core JDE system.
  • Collaborate with users to gather requirements and convert them into detailed technical specifications.
  • Test new and updated programs for logic accuracy, data integrity, and user experience.
  • Document code, processes, and deployment steps to support long-term maintainability.
  • Deploy new or updated programs into production with minimal disruption.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, system optimization, or improved data visibility.
  • Support end users with troubleshooting for custom programs, reporting issues, or database access.
  • Monitor existing applications for performance, accuracy, and ongoing relevance.

Requirements:

  • Hands‑on experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne or World, including UBE, tables, and reporting.
  • Strong skills in RPG, SQL, and related programming or scripting languages.
  • Experience designing and managing custom databases and standalone applications.
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills—able to work with both technical and non‑technical users.
