We are currently looking for a Flight Test Engineering Intern to join our team in Edwards AFB, CA.
Responsibilities:
The intern will work on projects involving T-7A Red Hawk flight test planning, coordination, execution, and reporting at Edwards AFB, CA. Join a team of MTSI, government, military, and others to work in a collaborative environment to test the United States Air Force's new jet trainer aircraft.
The intern will begin work on projects related to flight test planning, coordination, and execution under the supervision of our team of experienced Flight Test Engineers. Duties could include test card development, safety planning, mission planning and coordination, simulator rehearsals, ground test execution, and control room monitoring. It is expected during their internship the intern will complete the pre-requisite requirements of becoming a qualified Air Force Test Center Test Conductor.
Qualifications:
Studying for an Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Mechanical Engineer degree
Interest in aviation and flight test
Comfortable supporting multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic environment
Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Has a US Secret clearance (preferred) or is able to apply for a clearance with MTSI assistance
Graduating in CY2027
Self-motivated and able to work independently with help from experienced team members
Must possess communication skills for interacting with other engineers/analysts and customers.
Desired Skills
Private Pilot Certificate, or actively pursuing
Some experience in programming with Python, MATLAB, C
Clearance: Ability to obtain/maintain a US government security clearance.
