Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced, hands-on SAP Reporting Consultant for a 10-week engagement supporting consolidated reporting across Puerto Rico and U.S. operations.

The consultant will be responsible for understanding SAP data structures, developing and validating reporting solutions, performing data transformations and reconciliations, and delivering accurate consolidated financial and operational reporting across SAP environments.

The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience across SAP reporting platforms and data models, with the ability to translate business requirements into reliable, auditable reports and analytics solutions.

This is a hands-on reporting and analytics role, not a project-management or purely functional position.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support consolidated SAP reporting across Puerto Rico and U.S. business operations.
• Analyze SAP data sources, structures, hierarchies, master data, and key figures to support reporting requirements.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical reporting specifications.
• Develop reports and analytical solutions using appropriate SAP reporting platforms and semantic models.
• Perform complex data analysis, transformation, aggregation, and reconciliation.
• Ensure consistency of reporting definitions, calculations, hierarchies, and KPIs across business units.
• Validate consolidated reporting results against underlying SAP source data.
• Identify and resolve data quality, mapping, aggregation, and reconciliation issues.
• Develop reusable calculations, filters, queries, and reporting logic.
• Optimize reporting logic and query performance where required.
• Support report scheduling, automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Document reporting logic, data sources, calculations, business rules, and data definitions.
• Ensure reporting solutions comply with appropriate authorization and data-access requirements.
• Work independently and deliver high-quality reporting solutions within the short engagement timeframe.

Required Technical Skills

SAP Data & Modeling

• Strong understanding of SAP data structures and reporting models.
• Hands-on knowledge of SAP S/4HANA reporting and/or SAP BW/BW/4HANA.
• Experience with CDS Views, standard SAP tables, and SAP data models.
• Strong understanding of:
  • InfoObjects
  • DSOs / ADSOs
  • Characteristics and key figures
  • Dimensions and measures
  • Hierarchies
  • Master data
  • Company codes
  • Plants
  • Products/materials
  • Customers/vendors
• Understanding of SAP business processes such as:

• Strong hands-on SQL skills are required.

• Ability to identify incorrect joins, duplicate records, aggregation issues, and data-grain problems.
• Strong understanding of query performance and efficient data processing.

SAP Reporting Platforms

Experience with one or more of the following:

• SAP BW / BW/4HANA
• SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics
• SAP CDS Views
• SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
• SAP Fiori / Embedded Reporting
• Other SAP semantic/reporting layers

Experience across multiple SAP reporting platforms is highly preferred.

ETL, Transformation & Integration

• Develop and validate data transformation and mapping logic.
• Perform data cleansing, derivations, calculated fields, and business-rule implementation.
• Support automated reporting jobs and scheduling.
• Understand job dependencies, monitoring, restartability, and error handling.
• Perform source-to-target reconciliation and validation.
• Investigate reporting variances and identify the underlying source-data issues.
• Understand data latency and reporting refresh requirements.
• Ensure reporting data respects appropriate security and authorization restrictions.

Consolidated Reporting & Reconciliation

The consultant will be heavily involved in consolidated reporting across Puerto Rico and U.S. operations.

Responsibilities include:

• Consolidate reporting data across multiple entities/business units.
• Validate totals between SAP source systems and consolidated reports.
• Perform balance checks and variance analysis.
• Identify discrepancies caused by:
  • Data mapping
  • Master-data inconsistencies
  • Hierarchy changes
  • Duplicate records
  • Currency/UOM differences
  • Aggregation logic
  • Timing/latency issues
• Establish consistent reporting definitions and calculations.
• Ensure consolidated reports are accurate, traceable, and auditable.

Analytics & Business Reporting

• Define and document KPIs, measures, calculations, and reporting rules.
• Translate business questions into:
  • Data requirements
  • Reporting grain
  • Filters
  • Dimensions
  • Measures
  • Drill-down requirements
• Develop intuitive reports and dashboards with meaningful:
  • Charts
  • Filters
  • Drill paths
  • Parameters
  • Summary views
• Ensure reports are easy for business users to understand and validate.

Documentation

Create and maintain:

• Reporting specifications
• Technical specifications
• Data dictionaries
• Source-to-target mappings
• KPI definitions
• Calculation logic
• Data lineage documentation
• Reconciliation procedures
• Change logs
• Report user guides

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of SAP reporting / SAP analytics experience preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP reporting and data modeling.
• Strong SQL experience.
• Experience with SAP BW/4HANA, S/4HANA, CDS Views, SAC, or Embedded Analytics.
• Strong understanding of SAP business processes and data structures.
• Proven experience with consolidated reporting and data reconciliation.
• Ability to work with large and complex SAP datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong documentation and reporting discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting U.S. and Puerto Rico business entities.
• Experience with financial/consolidated reporting.
• SAP Finance (FI/CO) reporting experience.
• Experience working across multiple SAP systems or business units.
• Experience with currency conversion and multi-entity reporting.
• Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud or other enterprise BI tools.
• Experience troubleshooting data-quality and reconciliation issues.
