We need a senior (15+ years) hands-on, execution-focused Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead all technology infrastructure functions across the organization. This role will own the performance, scalability, and modernization of the bank’s infrastructure environment, with a strong emphasis on reliability, efficiency, and alignment to business growth. The CTO will partner closely with the CIO and senior leadership to drive infrastructure strategy across hybrid environments while ensuring a stable, high-performing technology foundation.
Job Description:
Seeking a hands-on, execution-focused Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead all technology infrastructure functions across the organization. This role will own the performance, scalability, and modernization of the bank’s infrastructure environment, with a strong emphasis on reliability, efficiency, and alignment to business growth. The CTO will partner closely with the CIO and senior leadership to drive infrastructure strategy across hybrid environments while ensuring a stable, high-performing technology foundation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and lead enterprise infrastructure strategy across cloud (AWS/Azure), data centers, networks, compute, storage, and end-user services
- Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of all production systems supporting banking operations
- Drive infrastructure modernization initiatives including cloud migration, automation, and platform standardization
- Establish and maintain infrastructure governance, standards, and operating procedures
- Partner with application development, data, and business teams to support enterprise platforms and digital initiatives
- Build and lead high-performing infrastructure, SRE, and operations teams
- Oversee infrastructure budgeting, capacity planning, and cost optimization (FinOps)
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and strategic partnerships across infrastructure and cloud providers
- Provide support for regulatory expectations and audits as they relate to infrastructure operations
Required Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with 7+ years in senior leadership roles within banking or financial services
- Required: Experience within a mid-size bank environment (e.g., regional or foreign-owned U.S. bank)
- Proven experience leading enterprise infrastructure teams in regulated financial institutions
- Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure), hybrid infrastructure, and data center operations
- Strong understanding of networking, enterprise systems, and infrastructure architecture
- Demonstrated success in infrastructure transformation, cloud migration, and automation initiatives
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in commercial banking, private banking, or lending-focused institutions
- Familiarity with core banking systems and financial platforms
- Background in DevOps, SRE, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience with observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace)
