Role Summary


This is a contract opportunity for the next 12 months initially, the focus is on enhancing product development tools and workflows. The PLM Application Engineer will be instrumental in supporting and improving the company's Product Lifecycle Management systems, contributing to pioneering solutions that influence industry standards. It's an exciting chance for professionals passionate about technological innovation and sustainable development.


Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement customisations, macros, and automation within CAD, PLM, and engineering tools to enhance design workflows and data management.

  • Support, test, and validate system features based on user needs.

  • Provide technical assistance, troubleshooting, and documentation to ensure smooth operations.

  • Conduct training sessions for team members on system functionalities and best practices.

  • Manage user access, permissions, and licenses to protect data integrity and facilitate efficient collaboration.

  • Work with cross-disciplinary teams to gather requirements and optimise system performance.


Essential Skills & Experience



  • 1-3 years' experience supporting, developing, or administering PLM or CAD systems.

  • Background in Engineering or Computer Science, with knowledge of relational databases and reporting tools.

  • Programming skills in languages such as Javascript, C++, and VBA.

  • Understanding of engineering documentation, BOM, and version control processes.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.

  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and motivated to provide high-quality technical support.


Desirable Skills & Experience



  • Experience with CAD platforms or PLM systems.

  • Familiarity with GD&T standards and drafting best practices.

  • Ability to develop visual reports and tracking tools.

  • Advanced skills with spreadsheets and data analysis tools.
