OverviewJob SummaryGalapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a highly qualified Senior Systems Engineer MBSE to join our team. In this critical role, you will support the Operational Test and Training Infrastructure (OTTI) Integrated Program Office (IPO) within Space Systems Command's System Delta 81. The OTTI program is a cornerstone initiative focused on developing, acquiring, and sustaining advanced test and training capabilities that ensure USSF readiness, operational agility, and a continued competitive advantage in the space domain.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of technical expertise, strategic insight, and exceptional communication skills to operate effectively in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. Key ResponsibilitiesThe Senior System Engineer MBSE will:
- Conduct feasibility studies and concept exploration to inform system and capability development
- Perform reference mission engineering and support system architecture development
- Develop and refine Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) to support operational and training requirements
- Lead and support requirements development, Interface Control Document (ICD) creation, verification planning, and system validation activities
- Provide systems engineering support across operations, test, and training environments
- Perform change management, impact analysis, and configuration support for evolving system baselines
- Assess, align, and integrate Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) activities with technical and programmatic efforts within the OTTI
ResponsibilitiesSkills and ExperienceThe Senior System Engineer MBSE must have:
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
- 10+ years of relevant Department of Defense (DoD) experience
- Experience supporting System Program Offices (SPOs) and/or Program Management Offices (PMOs), including system and capability delivery
- Extensive background in Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E), with specific experience supporting test and training materiel systems
- Demonstrated expertise in the deployment, sustainment, and integration of space test and training systems
- Proven experience in Systems Engineering (SE) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including practical application of SysML and tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler?
- Working knowledge of the Joint Capabilities Development and Integration System (JCIDS) and DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) processes and artifacts
- Broad technical experience across space system domains, including satellite and ground architectures, EO/IR and RF sensors, astrodynamics, propulsion, guidance, navigation and control (GNC), space data communications, and space battle management and control
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and provide technical leadership within cross-functional teams
- Ability to work full-time on site; travel up to 25 percent may be required to support program objectives
Education and CertificationsThe Senior System Engineer MBSE must meet the following:
Required
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Systems Engineering or a related engineering field (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Software, etc.)
- Degrees in other Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) fields may be considered with substantial, relevant professional experience

- Master's degree (MS/ME/MA) in Systems Engineering or a related field
