Test Technician (Hardware Development)
Location: Long Beach, CA (On-site)
Pay: $25-$28/hr (DOE)
Schedule: Full-time, non-exempt
Shifts: 1st (6:00am-2:30pm) or 2nd (2:00pm-10:30pm)

Seeking a Test Technician to support Hardware Development testing for systems used in the design and build of artificial-gravity, human-rated space stations. This role supports testing of safety-critical hardware for ECLSS (Environmental Control and Life Support Systems).

What you'll do

• Fabricate, clean, and activate ground support equipment and test articles (pressurized ground systems)
• Operate, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and modify manufacturing/testing equipment including:
  • Pressurized systems (vacuum to 20,000 psig), pneumatic/hydraulic systems
  • Oxygen and refrigerant systems
  • Data, automation, and control systems
• Support development, acceptance, qualification, and investigative test campaigns
• Maintain lab/workshop (cleanliness, consumables, tool control)
• Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions

Minimum qualifications

• 2+ years experience in manufacturing, test, operations, HVAC, or similar hands-on technical role
• High school diploma/GED

Preferred

• Aerospace / high-reliability manufacturing experience (power & gas, military, etc.)
• High-pressure equipment build/maintenance/troubleshooting experience
• Automation & controls (DAQ, PLCs, etc.)
• Cleanroom and precision cleaning/assembly experience
• Hazardous systems experience (cryogenic/flammable/pyrophoric/hypergolic/high voltage)
• Forklift/crane/aerial platform experience
• JIRA/Confluence familiarity
• Familiarity with aerospace test standards (e.g., SMC-S-016, MIL-STD-810G, GSFC-STD-7000B)
