Job Tittle: Business Analyst

Location: Atlanta, Georgia (Onsite)

Role Overview

This position serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for daily operations in designated retail natural gas markets. The role involves mastering standard operating procedures, system processes, and regulatory requirements. The primary focus is on monitoring, identifying, and resolving billing and customer communication exceptions to ensure compliance and timely correction of system issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Align with Regulatory, Legal, and Marketing teams to support market letter requirements and perform quarterly audits.
  • Monitor and resolve billing and error handling issues by running SQL queries to determine the extent of the problem.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for billing system enhancements and defects.
  • Manage the setup of pricing and promo codes, ensuring any issues are researched and corrected promptly.
  • Review daily system-generated reports to ensure IT functions are working as designed.
  • Participate as an SME in projects, assisting with requirements gathering, design, testing, and implementation.
  • Keep Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) current based on system enhancements and project implementations.
  • Identify root causes for billing errors and exceptions.
  • Gather and analyze data to identify and implement process improvements in billing and customer service operations.
  • Create project plans with controls, milestones, and checkpoints for system implementation projects.
Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of applicable experience is required.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in consumer services, billing, system operations, or business-to-consumer (B2C) roles is required.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SQL is required. The role also requires the ability to conduct trending and analysis to identify root causes and possible solutions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the retail utility industry.
  • Experience with a Natural Gas Marketer or Supplier.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Visio, and Access.
  • Advanced database knowledge, such as developing and executing SQL statements and importing data.
Work Environment

The incumbent will work in an office environment. This position follows a hybrid schedule, requiring on-site presence four days per week, which is subject to change based on business needs.
