Position: AI FinOps, Cost & Contracts Analyst

Work Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid)

Duration: Long Term Contract (W2)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cloud AI FinOps, Cost & Contracts Analyst to support a newly established AI Business Strategy & Value Realization team. This position is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in financial operations, cloud cost management, vendor and contract administration, budgeting, forecasting, and technology investment analysis. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing financial governance for enterprise AI initiatives, optimizing AI-related spending, managing vendor contracts, and delivering financial insights that maximize business value while ensuring fiscal accountability and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage AI FinOps processes, including total cost of ownership (TCO), cost-to-value analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning for AI services.
  • Design and administer showback, chargeback, and cost recovery models based on AI usage, token consumption, compute utilization, and business value.
  • Analyze AI platform costs across cloud infrastructure, foundation models, licensing, APIs, and enterprise AI platforms to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Partner with procurement, finance, legal, and technology teams to evaluate vendor contracts, pricing structures, renewals, and licensing strategies for AI solutions.
  • Build financial dashboards and executive reporting that provide transparency into AI spend, utilization, adoption, unit economics, and ROI.
  • Develop financial models that connect AI consumption, operational costs, and business outcomes to support investment decisions and value realization.
  • Establish governance, financial controls, and reporting processes to ensure efficient and responsible AI spending.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Financial Operations (FinOps), financial planning and analysis (FP&A), technology finance, procurement, or cloud cost management.
  • Strong understanding of AI economics, including token-based pricing, inference costs, cloud consumption, API pricing, model licensing, and AI usage metrics.
  • Experience designing and implementing showback, chargeback, billback, cost allocation, and cost recovery models.
  • Knowledge of total cost of ownership (TCO), unit economics, cost optimization, ROI analysis, and business case development for technology investments.
  • Experience analyzing enterprise software contracts, licensing agreements, vendor negotiations, and financial governance.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel and experience using BI tools such as Power BI or Microsoft Fabric for financial reporting and executive dashboards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to present financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
