Microbiologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Microbiologist to join an Advanced Molecular Detection team. This role focuses on genomic sequencing, troubleshooting complex assays, and ensuring the highest standards of laboratory safety and accuracy.

Core Responsibilities

• Genomic Sequencing: Perform the full range of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), from nucleic acid extraction to library preparation and instrument operation.
• Assay Development: Lead the validation and implementation of new molecular tests and draft critical SOPs.
• High-Complexity Testing: Provide technical oversight for complex molecular examinations on human, animal, and environmental samples.
• Troubleshooting: Maintain and calibrate sophisticated instrumentation (e.g., Illumina, PacBio, MALDI-TOF) and resolve assay performance issues.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure strict adherence to CLIA regulations and laboratory safety protocols when handling high-risk specimens.

Mandatory Requirements

• Education: BA/BS in Biological Sciences.
• NGS Expertise: At least 1 year of hands-on experience specifically using Illumina or PacBio platforms.
• Laboratory Experience: 2+ years of experience in high-complexity laboratory testing (CLIA environment).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in PCR, nucleic acid extraction, and interpretation of molecular data.
• Safety Comfort: Ability to work with biohazardous materials and wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
