Summary

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Fulfillment Experience builds the capabilities and operating mechanisms that make Walmart a reliable, convenient on-demand partner. Our teams determine what customers can buy, the promise and fulfillment choices they see, how orders are managed and recovered, and how the network performs at scale. We partner across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Finance, Merchandising, Store Operations, Fulfillment Centers, Last Mile, Transportation, and Strategy to improve customer outcomes while balancing speed, assortment, cost, and operational feasibility.

Role summary

The (USA) Manager, Technology Operations identifies and solves complex, high-impact fulfillment problems across a defined product, operational, or customer-experience area. This role turns ambiguous customer, operational, and financial signals into a clear diagnosis, an aligned plan, and measurable results. Working across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Finance, and operations partners, the Manager leads initiatives from discovery and analysis through decision, delivery, readiness, and impact measurement. Success requires structured problem solving, clear communication, sound business judgment, and the ability to influence without direct authority.

What you'll do
  • Own a complex problem space or initiative that improves customer experience, fulfillment performance, or financial outcomes.
  • Use customer, operational, and financial data to identify opportunities, quantify impact, isolate root causes, and define success measures.
  • Translate ambiguous problems into clear problem statements, hypotheses, options, and data-driven recommendations.
  • Lead cross-functional solution design and execution with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Finance, Store Operations, Fulfillment Centers, Last Mile, Transportation, and other partners.
  • Build and manage end-to-end plans that make ownership, milestones, dependencies, risks, decision points, pilots, launch readiness, and success measures clear.
  • Drive alignment and resolve trade-offs without direct authority; escalate issues with a clear recommendation when timely leadership decisions are needed.
  • Create concise, executive-ready updates and decision materials that clarify what changed, why it matters, and the action required.
  • Measure results after launch, identify gaps or unintended outcomes, and drive refinements, scaling, or corrective action.
  • Improve the team's planning, visibility, and execution through better processes, tools, automation, and operating routines.

What you'll bring
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in eCommerce, supply chain, operations, product, strategy, analytics, or another fast-paced, data-rich environment.
  • Strong structured problem-solving skills, including the ability to turn ambiguous issues into clear questions, synthesize disparate inputs, identify root causes, and recommend a practical path forward.
  • Strong analytical fluency and comfort using data to form hypotheses, assess trade-offs, define metrics, and measure impact.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make complex work understandable and action-oriented for audiences at every level.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority, build trust across functions, navigate competing priorities, and drive commitments to closure.
  • Disciplined program-management skills, including planning, milestone management, dependency and risk management, and launch or change readiness.
  • Sound customer, operational, and financial judgment; able to balance the ideal solution with what is practical to execute at scale.
  • A high-ownership mindset, curiosity, attention to detail, and a bias for action.

Preferred qualifications
  • Experience partnering directly with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to deliver technology-enabled business outcomes.
  • Experience in omnichannel retail, eCommerce, fulfillment, supply chain, marketplaces, or a similarly complex operating environment.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, BI and visualization tools, Jira, Airtable, or process-automation tools.
