Job Title: Enterprise Applications Integrations Software Engineer Contractor
Job Type: Contract (6+ months)

The Enterprise Applications Integrations team is seeking a Software Engineer contractor to support AWS API development, enterprise integration initiatives, platform enhancements, and operational
improvement efforts. The contractor will work closely with the Enterprise Applications engineering team to design, develop, maintain, and support cloud-based integration solutions while helping improve platform reliability, automation, and operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Application Development
- Design, develop, test, and maintain AWS API services and integration solutions.
- Implement enhancements and defect fixes for existing applications and integrations.
- Participate in solution design and technical discussions.
- Develop and maintain REST APIs and event-driven integrations.
- Create and maintain automated unit and integration tests.
- Project Delivery and Platform Enhancements
- Support Digital Commerce initiatives and other Enterprise Applications project work.
- Contribute to platform enhancement and modernization efforts.
- Assist with technical debt reduction and code quality improvements.
- Support delivery of integration-related business initiatives.
- AWS Platform Support
- Develop and support AWS Lambda-based services.
- Troubleshoot production and non-production issues.
- Support deployment and operational activities across AWS environments.
- Assist with platform reliability, scalability, and performance improvements.
- Operational Excellence
- Review and improve monitoring and alerting configurations.
- Assist with operational visibility and observability improvements.
- Support incident investigation and root cause analysis activities.
- Contribute to operational documentation and support processes.
- DevOps and Automation
- Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Contribute to GitHub Actions workflows and related tooling.
- Assist with automation efforts that improve team productivity and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Software Engineering
- Strong software development experience using JavaScript and Node.js.
- Experience developing and supporting REST APIs.
- Experience working with distributed systems and integration solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- AWS
- Experience with:
- AWS Lambda
- AWS API Gateway
- CloudWatch
- S3
- IAM
- Event-driven architectures
- DevOps
- Git and GitHub workflows
- CI/CD pipeline experience.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Testing and Quality
- Experience with automated testing practices.
- Understanding of software quality and secure development practices.
- Communication
- Ability to work effectively within a distributed team.
- Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Preferred Skills
- Experience with enterprise integration platforms.
- Experience with monitoring and observability practices.
- Experience supporting production cloud environments.
- Experience with API gateway configurations.
- Experience with GitHub Actions.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools.
- Success Criteria
- Become a productive member of the engineering team within the first 30–60 days.
- Contribute to Enterprise Applications project delivery efforts.
- Improve platform reliability, operational effectiveness, and automation capabilities.
- Contribute to platform enhancements and engineering best practices.
- Help reduce operational overhead through tooling, automation, and process improvements.
