IT Category Manager – Software & Services (Contract)

Location: Remote (U.S.)

Our client is seeking an experienced IT Category Manager – Software & Services to support a large, enterprisescale technology organization. This role is focused on strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management across enterprise software and IT services portfolios. This is a handson, mid-seniorlevel procurement role for someone who thrives in complex environments, partners closely with IT and business leaders, and brings deep expertise in software licensing and commercial negotiations. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating independently in a remote setting while managing multiple sourcing initiatives and stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead endtoend sourcing activities for enterprise software and IT services, including RFx development, supplier evaluation, negotiations, and contract execution
• Negotiate and manage complex software and services agreements, including SaaS, cloud, enterprise licenses, and professional services
• Serve as a strategic advisor to IT and business stakeholders on sourcing strategy, vendor selection, and commercial terms
• Manage ongoing vendor relationships, including performance reviews, risk mitigation, and contract compliance
• Provide subjectmatter expertise on software licensing models, renewals, and optimization opportunities
• Conduct spend analysis and market research to inform category strategies and costoptimization initiatives
• Partner crossfunctionally with IT, Finance, Legal, Security, and Engineering teams
• Support procurement activities tied to organizational change initiatives, including acquisitions or divestitures, as needed

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in IT procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management
• Demonstrated experience managing enterprise software and IT services contracts
• Strong background in contract negotiations, redlining, and commercial terms
• Working knowledge of software licensing models (SaaS, subscriptions, enterprise agreements, cloud, usagebased pricing)
• Proven ability to lead RFx processes and supplier selection initiatives
• Excellent communication and stakeholdermanagement skills
• Comfortable working in a remote, fastpaced, enterprise environment

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting large or highly regulated organizations
• Exposure to global or multiregion sourcing environments
• Familiarity with procurement tools, contract lifecycle management systems, or ERP platforms
