Manufacturing Network Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a Manufacturing Network Engineer to support large-scale manufacturing network deployments and new production launches. This role serves as the primary point of coordination for network readiness activities, ensuring network infrastructure, connectivity, and system integrations are delivered, tested, and validated according to project timelines. The position combines network engineering, technical coordination, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate network readiness activities for manufacturing project launches.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate activities across Network Engineering, Network Planning, Network Operations, Manufacturing IT, manufacturing teams, and external partners.
  • Track project progress and ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Ensure network infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, cellular systems, cabling, and connectivity, is installed and configured.
  • Coordinate provisioning of network devices and systems.
  • Validate end-to-end functionality of network infrastructure.
  • Support system integration across wired and wireless network environments.
  • Coordinate testing and validation activities before production launch.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between technical and business stakeholders.
  • Lead project meetings, provide status updates, and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Identify project risks, gaps, and potential delays.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting and resolution of network and system issues.
  • Escalate critical issues when necessary.
  • Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure network integration and production readiness.
  • Support pre-production testing, pilot builds, and production validation.
  • Verify network performance under production conditions.
  • Maintain project documentation and provide regular project status reports.
  • Capture lessons learned for future implementations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional technical projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco LAN and wireless infrastructure.
  • Experience with Cisco Catalyst 9000 series switches.
  • Experience with Wi-Fi 7, Cisco Catalyst Center, and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
  • Strong understanding of networking and IP protocols, including OSPF and BGP.
  • Experience with Cisco Software Defined Networking (SD-Access).
  • Experience with Cisco routing, switching, and IOS-XE.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Ethernet protocols, including Ethernet/IP and PROFINET.
  • Knowledge of fiber and copper network cabling standards.
  • Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Prisma Access.
  • Knowledge of commercial and private cellular networking.
  • Experience troubleshooting enterprise wired and wireless networks.
  • Experience validating and troubleshooting Wi-Fi and cellular deployments.
  • Cisco CCNA certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
