If so, BlueLinx?s Technical Learning Experience Design Intern role offers a hands?on opportunity to build real?world experience inside an enterprise IT environment?while helping people learn how to use modern systems and tools effectively.

This internship is ideal for students interested in Instructional Design, Learning Experience Design (LXD), Educational Technology, or IT who want to apply their skills in a practical, impactful setting. You?ll work closely with BlueLinx?s IT team to design learning content that supports enterprise systems, digital tools, reporting platforms, and emerging technologies?including AI?enabled solutions.

What You?ll Do:

As a Technical Learning Experience Design Intern, you?ll help bring learning experiences to life by:

  • Supporting the design and development of learner?centered training materials for enterprise systems, applications, and IT processes
  • Creating and updating job aids, system guides, presentations, videos, and eLearning modules using instructional design and LXD best practices
  • Collaborating with IT subject matter experts and business partners to turn technical workflows into clear, engaging, and easy?to?understand learning content
  • Helping drive adoption of business applications, reporting tools, and AI?enabled technologies through intuitive and structured learning experiences
  • Organizing, maintaining, and updating content in learning platforms and shared repositories to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability
  • Reviewing, testing, and refining learning materials based on stakeholder feedback and learner needs

What We?re Looking For:

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor?s or Master?s degree program
  • Preferred majors include Computer Science, Information Systems, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field

Experience:

  • Prior coursework or academic projects related to IT, training, or learning design preferred

Skills & Interests:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear, user?friendly way
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Comfort using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Interest in learning technologies, documentation, and technical training
  • Ability to collaborate with both technical and non?technical teammates

Certifications:

  • Microsoft certifications are a plus, but not required
