Ready-Mix IT Business Systems Manager

Dallas, Texas

Fulltime

EXCITING NEW OPPORTUNITY for a Ready-Mix Business Systems Manager. Under general direction from the Director, Business Solutions, the Ready-Mix Business Systems Manager is responsible for leading the strategy and delivery of business systems that enable Ready-Mix performance from order capture and pricing through dispatch, batching, delivery, ticketing, invoicing, and customer service. This role partners closely with Ready-Mix Operations, Sales, Quality, and Fleet/Maintenance to modernize and optimize plant and field workflows, improve visibility and control, and drive measurable outcomes in on-time performance, utilization, cost, and customer experience (order accuracy, proactive customer communication, and fast issue resolution). The ideal candidate blends strong technical and business analysis skills with change leadership and hands-on program execution in an operations-intensive environment.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Develop and execute a Ready-Mix systems roadmap aligned to operational priorities (dispatch efficiency, plant throughput, fleet utilization, order-to-cash accuracy) and customer experience outcomes (order accuracy, proactive delivery updates, and simplified issue/credit resolution).
  • Identify and deliver technology-driven improvements across Ready-Mix workflows, including quoting/pricing, order entry, dispatch, batching, delivery tracking, ticketing, returns, and invoicing.
  • Lead planning, analysis, and requirements capture with Ready-Mix stakeholders (operations leaders, dispatch, plant managers, drivers, sales, quality, and finance) across multiple plants and markets with changing demand and priorities.
  • Apply advanced business analysis and problem-solving skills to translate Ready-Mix operational needs into scalable solutions (e.g., dispatch optimization, batch automation, mobile/telematics integration, and real-time production/delivery visibility).
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and take accountability for Ready-Mix systems service delivery, including dispatch uptime, ticket accuracy, integration reliability, and user adoption across plants and field teams.

Project Management

  • Work closely with project manager teams and Ready-Mix leaders to deliver initiatives such as dispatch and batching system enhancements, mobile ticketing/driver apps, telematics integration, master data improvements (mix designs, materials, customers), and ERP/order-to-cash process changes. Monitor progress, manage risks, and remove roadblocks to keep projects on track.

Change Management

  • Design and implement change management plans to drive successful adoption of Ready-Mix solutions across plants, dispatch, and field operations (communications, training, cutover planning, and post-go-live stabilization).
  • Serve as a change champion, building alignment across Ready-Mix operations, sales, quality, finance, and IT to standardize best practices while respecting local market needs.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with Ready-Mix leadership, dispatch/plant teams, and technical partners to gather requirements, prioritize enhancements, and align roadmaps to operational and commercial goals.
  • Liaise closely with Ready-Mix Business Partners and functional owners to identify operational pain points (cycle time, washout/returns, re-temper, shortages, credits) and develop joint business and IT improvement plans.
  • Provide regular updates to executives on Ready-Mix transformation progress, risks, ROI, and KPI movement (on-time delivery, cost per yard/m , utilization, ticket accuracy, and DSO).

Technology Oversight

  • Oversee integration and modernization of Ready-Mix technologies (dispatch and batching platforms, plant automation interfaces, mobile/driver solutions, telematics, and ERP/order-to-cash integrations).
  • Ensure architecture supports Ready-Mix operational reliability (dispatch and plant uptime), secure integrations, master data quality (customers, mix designs, materials), and scalable reporting/analytics.

Performance Monitoring

  • Define and monitor Ready-Mix KPIs and success metrics to measure impact (on-time delivery, cycle time, plant throughput, fleet utilization, ticket and invoice accuracy, rejected loads, returns/washout) and customer experience (order accuracy, response time to changes/issues, and complaint/credit cycle time).
  • Continuously assess and adjust solutions based on feedback from dispatchers, plant teams, drivers, and customers, ensuring improvements translate into sustained operational results.

Required Communication Skills:

  • Ability to listen, build rapport, and develop credibility as a strategic partner
  • Know when to push an agenda and when to let a situation quietly develop, rest, or advance.
  • Analytical problem-solving ability for dealing with escalated issues
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
  • Effective multitasking, organizational, time-management and prioritizing competency
  • Effective in mentoring, coaching, and transferring expertise to others
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with an emphasis on relationship management
  • Highly effective verbal and written communications to executive and leadership
  • Ability to manage and serve as a mentor for junior employees

Required Technical Experience:

  • 10+ years progressive leadership experience across IT and operations/commercial roles, with demonstrated delivery in Ready-Mix or construction materials (multi-plant, high-volume, time-sensitive operations).
  • Business analysis and delivery experience across the Ready-Mix lifecycle (pricing/order entry, dispatch, batching, delivery/ticketing, returns/credits, invoicing), including requirements/user stories, process mapping, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization with a focus on customer-facing accuracy, visibility, and responsiveness.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and supporting Ready-Mix production and delivery systems such as: dispatch and order management; batching/plant automation (batch controllers and plant interfaces); ticketing/e-ticketing and proof of delivery; fleet and telematics (GPS/ELD); customer portals/CRM and pricing tools; ERP/order-to-cash (billing, AR, credits); quality/QC systems (mix designs, materials, test results); and reporting/BI.
  • Program/portfolio governance and business case development tied to Ready-Mix outcomes (on-time delivery, cycle time, plant throughput, fleet utilization, ticket accuracy, cost per yard/m , and customer experience).
  • Change leadership and sustainment experience in plant/dispatch/field environments, including training/communications, run-support readiness for dispatch/plant-critical systems, and KPI reporting (MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft 365; analytics tools such as Power BI).
  • High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information, including customer pricing, mix designs, operational performance data, and system access credentials.

Education/Certification/Designation

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field (computer science, engineering, business)
  • BRM and PMP certifications, nice to have
