Overview
As the Data Product Manager, you will own the endtoend lifecycle of enterprise data products within our Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) environment. You will design, build, and deliver scalable data solutions that serve as the backbone of analytics across merchandising, planning, finance, and broader business functions.
This role goes beyond project execution you will drive continuous development of data assets, ensuring that our Data Hub, semantic layers, and enterprise data models are accurate, consistent, and trusted across the organization. You will translate complex business needs into strategic data products, working handson with modern cloud technologies and guiding crossfunctional teams to enable high-quality analytics at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Data Product Ownership & Strategy
- Act as the CEO of a core data domain (e.g., supply chain, finance, merchandising), owning the roadmap, vision, and evolution of that data product.
- Lead the transition from project-based delivery to continuous product development aligned with enterprise data strategy.
- Build robust product plans that define how data products evolve, scale, and integrate across the enterprise.
- Champion the concept of data as a product , ensuring discoverability, trust, governance, and usability across teams.
Solution & Architecture Design
- Define data models, data flows, and semantic layers using the Medallion Architecture (Bronze Silver Gold/Platinum) in BigQuery.
- Partner with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Platform teams to architect and refine data products that support both operational and analytical use cases.
- Ensure remote vs. onsite role data context is reflected accurately in models (where applicable).
End-to-End Data Product Development
- Lead hands-on development of data products from ingestion and transformation through modeling, validation, and final curated layers.
- Support automation of analytics platforms including Tableau and self-service analytics environments.
- Build data sets that power internal APIs and downstream product teams, ensuring the Data Hub serves as a single trusted source.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
- Act as the front door to business partners, translating requirements into clear technical direction.
- Communicate complex data concepts in a way that supports decision-making across merchandising, planning, finance, and other teams.
- Align data governance and stewardship practices across multiple organizations.
Data Modeling, Pipelines & Governance
- Design and maintain scalable data pipelines and models in Google Cloud Platform/BigQuery.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and availability across the enterprise.
- Establish and enforce data governance practices in partnership with Data Stewards.
BI Development & Innovation
- Support the creation of actionable dashboards, Tableau automation, selfservice analytics tools, and semantic layers.
- Drive innovation in data product capabilities and identify opportunities to improve analytics maturity.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Guide analysts, data engineers, and developers on best practices for data modeling, governance, and analytics product development.
- Promote a culture of engineering rigor, quality, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in a data-related role (BI development, analytics engineering, data product management, or similar).
- Strong proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and data pipeline development.
- Handson experience with Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, and ELT/ETL frameworks; knowledge of Medallion Architecture strongly preferred.
- Experience with modern BI tools such as Tableau or Looker.
- Exceptional communication skills and an ability to translate complex data concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Proven track record leading technical initiatives, preferably within Agile environments.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Data Engineering, Data Analytics, and Platform teams.
- Strategic thinker with strong problemsolving and stakeholder management abilities.
- Retail, ecommerce, or consumer goods experience is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring junior team members or leading small technical teams.

This Technical Product Manager will own the full lifecycle of data products within a Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) environment. The team is building automated Tableau pipelines, Data Lake capabilities using the Medallion Architecture in BigQuery (Bronze Silver Gold/Platinum), and scalable semantic layers.

CrossFunctional Leadership
- Work closely with Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Platform Teams, and Data Stewards.
- Act as the front door for business partners, requiring excellent communication and expectationsetting.
Candidate Profile we are looking for
Technical Background
- Strong foundation in data concepts; able to translate complex data models for diverse audiences.
- Able to write SQL and pull data independently.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Medallion architecture, and Tableau automation is ideal.
Product Skills
- Heavy emphasis on product strategy, roadmap development, and execution.
- Experience with continuous development of data products not projectbased delivery.
Soft Skills
- Rockstar communicator who can influence, guide, and align stakeholders.
- Retail industry experience is a strong plus.
