Note -
Overview Role is almost 100% mechanical testing no software or electrical responsibilities.
Preferred backgrounds: verification/V&V, systems test, test engineer, medical device experience (ISO 13485) helpful but not required.
Tools/Equipment: Instron, Tinius (tensile/compression); MATLAB possibly useful but not commonly used.
. Role scope: mechanical testing focus Role performs ~100% mechanical testing; excludes software and electrical testing.
Candidates with electromechanical or electrical V&V/systems-test experience may be considered but are not the primary target.
Primary focus is verification within V&V and systems testing; acceptable titles include V&V engineer, systems test engineer, or test engineer.
Entry-level hires are acceptable and will receive mentorship; candidates will not be required to manage others.
Role focuses on verification (one of the D's in V&V); software test automation, cybersecurity, and system integration testing are not required for this role. Systems Engineering Professional certification and ISO 13485 knowledge are preferred but not required;
Job Responsibilities-
Analyzes system testing requirements and develops comprehensive test plans and strategies to ensure thorough coverage of system functionalities and requirements while adhering to regulatory requirements and company policies, working under direct supervision.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define test objectives, scope, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
Executes system tests according to established procedures, documenting test results and identifying deviations or anomalies for further investigation.
Assesses test results and provides detailed reports, offering insights into system performance and recommending improvements or optimizations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and guidelines throughout the testing process.
Develops and maintains automated test scripts and tools to streamline testing processes and enhance efficiency in test execution and analysis.
Collaborates with software developers and systems engineers to identify and resolve issues, ensuring the integrity and reliability of system functionalities.
Mentors junior test engineers, providing guidance on testing methodologies, tools, and best practices to foster professional growth and development.
Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing processes and methodologies, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the testing team.
Engages with stakeholders to communicate testing progress, escalate critical issues, and facilitate decision-making related to system testing activities.
Supports the integration of new technologies and platforms into existing testing environments, conducting compatibility and interoperability testing as needed.
Requirements-
Minimum required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering OR Vocational Education in Information Technology or equivalent.
Minimum required Experience: No prior experience required with Bachelor's Degree OR minimum 4 years of experience with Vocational Education in areas such as System Architecture, System Design, Hardware Engineering or equivalent.
