The Network Engineer will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate must possess a solid working knowledge of network routing protocols, including EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF, along with familiarity with cloud networking and SD-WAN technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and independently configure and deploy network solutions, supporting optimal performance, reliability, and security.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF) to support efficient data flow and connectivity.
  • Support and maintain cloud network configurations, helping integrate on-premises infrastructure with public cloud services. (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
  • Implement and support SD-WAN solutions to enhance network efficiency and flexibility.
  • Collaborate with the security team to implement network security measures and protocols in accordance with applicable Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and DoD guidance.
  • Utilize network monitoring tools to monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and support traffic optimization. (SolarWinds, SD-WAN controllers)
  • Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and policies.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
  • Collaborate with and share knowledge across the network engineering team.
  • Coordinate with network hardware and software vendors for technical support and to assist in evaluating new technologies.
  • Travel may be required for special projects. (CONUS, OCONUS)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • May be substituted by an associates degree in a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience. Certifications such as CCNP or equivalent are desirable.
  • 3+ years of experience in network engineering, with exposure to enterprise network operations and implementation.
  • Experience with SD-WAN technologies and solutions is a plus.
  • DoD IAT Level II Certification is required.
  • Relevant network certifications such as CCNA (CCNP a plus), AWS Certified Networking, or equivalent are preferred.
  • TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a CI polygraph.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of routing protocols: EIGRP, BGP, OSPF.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure).
  • Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of HAIPE technologies (TACLANES) and how to identify and troubleshoot associated issues is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with network monitoring and performance tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
