Summary

1st Shift Laboratory Technician
Schedule: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Pay: $25-$26 per hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support plant quality operations by preparing samples, performing analytical testing, and documenting results. This role plays a key part in monitoring production processes and ensuring finished products meet quality and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining accurate records and adhering to strict safety and compliance guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare process and finished product samples for laboratory testing.
  • Perform analytical testing using instrumental methods and wet chemistry procedures.
  • Record and report results using computerized data systems and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Conduct routine process monitoring tests throughout the facility as assigned.
  • Maintain retained samples of tested products to verify results when necessary.
  • Document all testing procedures and promptly notify operations of any required process adjustments.
  • Assist operators by providing insight or recommendations to help achieve product quality standards.
  • Perform light maintenance and calibration on laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and ongoing records of all testing procedures and results.
  • Monitor testing supply levels and notify supervisors when reordering is required.
  • Compare equipment readouts with standard samples to ensure accuracy and proper system performance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory, including washing and storing equipment properly.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with team members across departments.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety procedures and complete required safety training.
  • Follow all applicable regulatory and company standards, including food safety, quality, and workplace safety guidelines.

Preferred Experience
  • Strong attendance history and safety awareness.
  • Experience operating laboratory instruments and equipment such as pH meters, balances, and spectrophotometers.
  • Familiarity with laboratory documentation and testing procedures.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word or similar software.
  • Ability to perform calculations related to laboratory testing.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing or plant environment is preferred.

  • Ability to stand and remain on your feet for extended periods of time.
