Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Application Developer with strong expertise in Java Core, Java EE (JEE), PostgreSQL, and AWS cloud technologies.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise Java applications and web services. This role involves modernizing legacy applications, developing new enterprise solutions, building RESTful web services, and implementing database-driven application functionality.

Candidates should have strong hands-on experience with JavaServer Faces (JSF), PrimeFaces, PostgreSQL SQL, PL/pgSQL, and Java Persistence technologies.

The developer will collaborate with application developers, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, secure, and efficient technical solutions.

Work Arrangement: Fully Remote. Occasional onsite meetings may be required.

Required Technical Skills & Experience

1. Java Core / Java EE (JEE)

•   experience with Java Core and Java EE (JEE).

• Strong experience with Java Persistence API (JPA).

• Experience with Java Persistence Query Language (JPQL).

• Strong enterprise Java application development experience.

• Experience developing, maintaining, and modernizing Java applications.

2. JSF / PrimeFaces

•  experience with JavaServer Faces (JSF).

•  experience with PrimeFaces.

• Experience developing enterprise web applications using JSF and PrimeFaces.

3. PostgreSQL Database

•  experience with PostgreSQL.

• Strong hands-on experience writing PostgreSQL SQL queries.

• Experience developing and maintaining PL/pgSQL queries and database functionality.

• Experience with database-driven web applications and APIs.

• Knowledge of database schema design and data management.

4. AWS / Cloud Technologies

• experience working with cloud computing environments.

• Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Understanding of application development and deployment processes in AWS environments.

• Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines in cloud environments.

5. RESTful Web Services

• experience developing Java-based RESTful web services.

• Experience designing and developing application APIs.

• Knowledge of API integrations and web service architecture.

6. Authentication & Application Security

• Experience implementing authentication mechanisms for external users and systems.

• Knowledge of OAuth2 and OpenAM.

• Understanding of data security standards and encryption techniques.

7. Web Accessibility

• Knowledge and practical experience implementing WCAG accessibility guidelines.

• Ability to develop accessible web applications.

8. Communication & Collaboration

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java applications and web services.

• Build new enterprise applications and modernize legacy applications.

• Enhance existing Java web applications while maintaining current functionality.

• Develop enterprise applications using Java EE, JSF, and PrimeFaces.

• Implement authentication solutions using OAuth2, OpenAM, and related technologies.

• Develop and maintain PostgreSQL SQL and PL/pgSQL queries.

• Build database-driven application functionality and RESTful APIs.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and implementation within AWS.

• Ensure applications comply with security standards and approved encryption practices.

• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into application solutions.

• Collaborate with application developers, engineers, and subject matter experts.

• Manage development priorities, project timelines, and deliverables independently.

• Participate in technical discussions and provide recommendations for application improvements.

• Attend onsite meetings when required.
