Job Description:
The PeopleSoft Techno-Functional Analyst Benefits Administration (BA) is responsible for supporting, enhancing, and optimizing PeopleSoft HCM Benefits modules, including Base Benefits and Benefits Administration. This role combines functional HR/Benefits expertise with technical skills in PeopleSoft development. The analyst collaborates with HR, Payroll, Time & Labor, IT, and third-party vendors to ensure accurate benefits processing, open enrollment execution, and overall system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Responsibilities
Perform end-to-end Event Maintenance within Benefits Administration, including:
Monitoring, correcting, and finalizing event statuses
Managing On-Demand and Scheduled Event processes
Reviewing participation, eligibility, and event-triggered changes
Resolving event-related errors or enrollment discrepancies
Lead configuration, Testing, and support of PeopleSoft Base Benefits and Benefits Administration, including:
Benefit plan setup and maintenance
Eligibility rules, event rules, and event classifications
Rates, deduction codes, coverage tiers, and plan updates
Open Enrollment and Life Event processing
COBRA and ACA processing
Partner with HR Benefits, Payroll, and Time & Labor teams to gather requirements and implement best-practice solutions.
Manage annual Open Enrollment setup, validation, testing, and deployment.
Troubleshoot benefit enrollment issues, payroll deduction discrepancies, and data integrity problems.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational benefits regulations
HIPAA EDI 834 layout guidelines.
Create functional/Technical design documents, test scripts, process documentation, and training materials.
PeopleSoft PUM Update
Technical Responsibilities
Develop and support PeopleSoft customizations, interfaces, and enhancements using:
o People Tools, People Code
o Application Engine (AE), App Packages
o Component Interfaces
o Integration Broker
o SQR, BI Publisher
o SQL, PS Query
o Fluids pages
o COBOL
Experience with PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 and People Tools 8.5x.
Resolve production issues related to Benefits Administration batch processes.
Support integrations with third-party benefits providers.
Assist with PeopleSoft upgrades, PUM updates, and regression testing.
Preferred / Added Advantage
Experience with PeopleSoft NA Payroll:
o Payroll calculations and deductions
o Payroll-benefit integration
o Payroll error resolution and retro processing
Experience with PeopleSoft Time & Labor:
o Rules setup
o Time reporting codes (TRCs)
o Time Administration processing
o Integration with Payroll
Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, HRIS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
8+ years of PeopleSoft HCM experience, with hands-on expertise in Base Benefits, Benefits Administration, and Event Maintenance.
Strong understanding of benefit plan configuration, eligibility, enrollment processing, event rules, and payroll interactions.
Solid technical skills in People Tools, People Code, SQL, and troubleshooting.
Ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
Experience conducting system testing, documentation, and user support.
