TECHNICAL PROJECT MANGER

We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead complex enterprise data engineering and ETL modernization initiatives. This is a hands-on contractor role requiring strong technical credibility across IBM DataStage, SQL, ServiceNow, and cloud data platforms, combined with exceptional project delivery and stakeholder management skills. The successful candidate must be local to McLean, VA and available for on-site engagement.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise data engineering and ETL modernization programs, managing scope, schedules, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
• Coordinate DataStage migration initiatives by partnering with ETL developers, architects, cloud engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions.
• Own the ServiceNow ticket lifecycle, overseeing intake, prioritization, change management, incident tracking, reporting, and workflow governance.
• Apply advanced SQL skills to validate data, support testing activities, investigate data issues, and monitor delivery quality throughout the project lifecycle.
• Produce executive dashboards, RAID logs, project plans, and status reporting while facilitating sprint ceremonies, steering committees, and governance meetings.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience delivering IBM DataStage and enterprise data engineering solutions, with at least 5 years leading technical projects or programs.
• Strong technical expertise across SQL, ETL delivery, data warehousing, ServiceNow, and project management tools including Jira, Confluence, or MS Project.
• Demonstrated success managing complex data modernization initiatives involving cloud platforms such as Snowflake or AWS.
• Outstanding communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills with the ability to translate technical delivery into business-focused outcomes.
• Experience working with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or comparable mortgage or regulated financial services environments is strongly preferred, and candidates must be local to McLean, VA.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leading enterprise-scale cloud migration or legacy data modernization programs.
• Knowledge of data governance, auditability, lineage, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Experience managing distributed delivery teams, contractors, and third-party vendors.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Project Management Professional (PMP), Scrum Master, or equivalent certification.
