Salary: $120,000 - $145,000 per year

A bit about us:

We are a growing, private equity-backed health and wellness company serving healthcare practitioners and their patients. As our business expands, we are investing in the technology connecting our commerce platforms, practitioner experiences, marketing systems, and customer data.

We are seeking a technically strong Product Owner to own that evolution. This person will translate commercial priorities into detailed requirements and lead execution alongside developers and DevOps-from discovery and backlog prioritization through testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement.

Why join us?
  • Own the technical product roadmap for a growing digital commerce and MarTech ecosystem.
  • Work directly with the CMO and commercial leadership to shape priorities and deliver business results.
  • Lead complex Shopify functionality, platform integrations, and practitioner-to-patient digital experiences.
  • Combine strategic ownership with hands-on execution in an environment where your decisions directly influence delivery.
  • Fully remote or hybrid arrangements considered.

Job Details

We are looking for a Technical Product Owner who can independently turn business needs into clear, actionable engineering work.
Success requires more than storefront administration, merchandising, or coordinating website updates. You will own the technical roadmap, understand how systems and data connect, and guide development through delivery. You should be comfortable discussing implementation options, challenging incomplete requirements, identifying dependencies, and validating that released functionality solves the intended business problem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the technical product roadmap across Shopify, web portals, and connected MarTech platforms.
  • Translate commercial requests into detailed technical specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, and prioritized development work.
  • Manage the engineering backlog, including refinement, sequencing, sprint readiness, dependencies, and delivery priorities.
  • Work directly with developers and DevOps to evaluate implementation options, resolve technical questions, and carry initiatives through release.
  • Define requirements for complex Shopify functionality, app integrations, theme enhancements, checkout experiences, and practitioner or patient workflows.
  • Understand and document the architecture, integrations, and data flows connecting commerce, CRM, marketing automation, analytics, and third-party systems.
  • Identify downstream impacts, integration risks, and system constraints before development begins.
  • Coordinate QA, user acceptance testing, and regression testing; validate completed work against acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with engineering and DevOps on CI/CD workflows, deployment readiness, release validation, and rollback planning.
  • Remain hands-on with platform configuration, initial troubleshooting, issue reproduction, and technical documentation.
  • Own delivery details in a lean environment, proactively resolving gaps rather than depending on a large technical team to manage execution.
  • Measure release outcomes and use business results, customer feedback, and technical performance to inform roadmap decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Five or more years of relevant experience, with demonstrated ownership of technical digital products, platform capabilities, or complex MarTech initiatives.
  • Experience serving as the bridge between commercial stakeholders and engineering teams, independently translating business needs into development-ready requirements.
  • A track record of owning technical roadmaps and engineering backlogs through implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Strong Shopify or Shopify Plus experience extending beyond merchandising, content updates, and routine storefront management.
  • Practical understanding of platform integrations, APIs, data flows, and dependencies across commerce and marketing technology systems.
  • Ability to discuss technical tradeoffs with developers and understand how implementation decisions affect functionality, reliability, and customer experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile delivery, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release management.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows, development environments, testing practices, deployment processes, and rollback procedures.
  • Experience defining acceptance criteria, investigating defects, and validating delivered functionality.
  • Ability to work strategically while independently handling detailed execution in a lean team.
  • Clear communication and documentation skills, including the ability to explain technical constraints and delivery decisions to nontechnical stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous roles such as Technical Product Owner, Digital Platform Product Owner, MarTech Product Manager, or Technical eCommerce Product Manager.
  • Working knowledge of Shopify Liquid and theme structure sufficient to clarify requirements and troubleshoot alongside developers.
  • Experience with Klaviyo, GA4, Google Tag Manager, customer data platforms, and attribution or tracking implementations.
  • Practitioner portals, healthcare commerce, or connected B2B and B2C purchasing experiences.
  • Practical use of AI-assisted tools for requirements, documentation, development coordination, or testing.

What Will Stand Out

Candidates who can explain a complex initiative they personally owned: the commercial problem, systems involved, requirements they developed, technical decisions they helped resolve, and how they guided the work through deployment. Direct ownership of technical delivery and platform integrations will carry more weight than general eCommerce management experience.
