Job Title: AI & Data Engineering Consultant
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: Flexible Based on Experience

Overview

We are seeking an AI & Data Engineering Consultant with a strong financial, accounting, or analytical background to support data integration, automation, and reporting initiatives. This role will focus on managing and improving the quality of operational and production data, integrating information across systems, and leveraging AI-driven solutions to enhance business processes and reporting capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have a blend of accounting or financial analysis experience, strong SQL skills, and hands-on exposure to AI tools, data integration, and automation. Experience within the oil and gas industry, particularly around production, land, or operational data, is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, cleanse, and maintain data across multiple business and operational systems
  • Design and support data integration processes to improve data accessibility and consistency
  • Develop SQL-based solutions for data extraction, transformation, validation, and reporting
  • Work with production and operational datasets to improve reporting accuracy and business insights
  • Implement AI and automation solutions to streamline data workflows and reduce manual effort
  • Collaborate with accounting, finance, operations, and business stakeholders to support reporting and analytical needs
  • Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Identify data quality issues and implement controls to improve data integrity
  • Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions and process improvements
  • Support ongoing data governance and master data management initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''''s degree in Finance, Accounting, Financial Analysis, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Experience working in a financial, accounting, or business analysis capacity
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools, AI-driven analytics, data automation, or machine learning technologies
  • Strong SQL development and database querying skills
  • Experience with data integration, data management, and data quality initiatives
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and present meaningful business insights
  • Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with business stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data engineering experience supporting enterprise data environments
  • Experience with SSI Systems or similar oil and gas data management platforms
  • Oil and gas industry experience
  • Experience working with production data, land data, revenue data, or related energy-sector datasets
  • Understanding of financial reporting, accounting processes, or operational finance
  • Experience implementing AI-powered automation, data enrichment, or workflow optimization solutions
  • Consulting experience or ability to operate independently with minimal supervision

This role is best suited for someone who started their career in accounting, finance, or financial analysis and has expanded into data management, SQL development, AI integration, and business intelligence.
