responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities


  • Lead the design, coding, testing, debugging, and deployment of enterprise Java applications.
  • Analyze technical and functional requirements to develop scalable software solutions.
  • Develop flowcharts, technical documentation, user instructions, and system diagrams.
  • Perform database design, SQL development, package deployment, and trigger creation.
  • Analyze application logs, system performance, memory utilization, and connectivity issues to resolve production problems.
  • Develop and implement enhancements to improve application performance and system efficiency.
  • Create and maintain backup and recovery processes supporting business continuity.
  • Coordinate technical work assignments and mentor development team members.
  • Participate in software planning, analysis, estimation, and project coordination.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate new application requirements and system modifications.
  • Develop programming standards, procedures, interfaces, and reporting solutions.
  • Support production releases and participate in troubleshooting during off-hours as needed.




qualifications:

Qualifications:


15+ years of professional Java development experience.


10+ years of SQL database development and administration experience.


8+ years supporting and enhancing large-scale enterprise applications within a collaborative development team.


5+ years of Linux experience.


Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).


Experience troubleshooting complex production application issues.


Ability to develop technical documentation and system specifications.


Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:


Experience with Atlassian tools, particularly Jira.


Experience working within Agile development environments.


Experience supporting State of Texas applications.


Experience working within Texas Department of Public Safety environments.


Experience modernizing legacy mainframe applications into Java/SQL platforms.
