--- Project Description ---
The Software Developer will support various healthcare data projects
within the Center for Health Data Innovation (CHDI). CHDI is responsible
for data collection and data warehousing for several major systems,
including the Statewide Planning and Research Cooperative System
(SPARCS) and the All-Payer Database (APD). The SPARCS system has
been in operations since 1982, collecting data from 400+ facilities,
bringing in 40+ million discharge-level transactions a year, and
warehouses 40+ calendar years of data. The All-Payer Database (APD)
system has been in operations since 2018, collecting data from 80+
insurers, bringing in 800+ million claim-level transactions a year and
warehouses at present 7 calendar years of data. The data content
integrity and operations of these systems is critical to the day-to-day
operations and management of health care facilities, health care
programs, public and private health insurance products; and research on
health care services, outcomes, and cost.
--- Day-to-Day Tasks ---
1. Work with program staff and business analyst to analyze data,
reporting requirements, business / workflow processes, data flows, and
system interfaces.
2. Coordinate with vendors, data analysts, and contractors on gap
analysis and logical design.
3. Work with business analyst and developer to perform data extraction
and transformation tasks.
4. Work with technical manager to ensure the team implements the
correct software solution and the solution will meet the needs of the
program.
5. Compile reports and activity status as requested by the project
manager.
6. Work in a matrixed team structure, often facilitating multi-disciplinary
teams, translating business/program subject matter information into
project artifacts.
7. Prepare and execute a knowledge transfer.
8. Follow department level, and division level directives, best practices,
standards, and methodologies, as appropriate or requested.
--- Required Qualifications ---
84 months experience using SPRING framework
84 months experience with cloud services like AWS etc, setting up CI/CD
pipelines, able to run microservices for onPrem architecture
84 months experience using Hibernate, myBATIS or other Object Relational
Mapping framework.
84 months of experience with technical documentation including use cases,
test plan and test scripts.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or
related field from an accredited institution.
84 months of experience in the design, implementation and deployment of
Java applications using modern Javascript libraries. Experience with
healthcare data intake, data warehousing, or submitter tracking systems is
preferred.
84 months of experience with relational and NoSQL databases (like Oracle,
Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc). Experience with healthcare claims,
member enrollment, or facility data is preferred.
84 months experience in programming Oracle WebLogic Java applications
from specifications expressed by use cases, class diagrams, interaction
diagrams and sequence diagrams.
