Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking an Associate Scientist - Onsite for a position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in Thousand Oaks, CA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This is a junior-level role supporting cell-based assay work for small molecule chemistry programs. The ideal candidate will have foundational mammalian cell culture exposure, strong hands-on lab skills, and a collaborative, adaptable mindset. This team values curiosity, coachability, strong SOP adherence, and an eagerness to learn.
Responsibilities: - Develop biochemical, cell-based assays under supervision
- Routine execution of biochemical and cell-based assays such as protein binding and displacement, protein degradation, reporter assays, cell viability assays, and cytokine secretion assays
- Analyze data using data analysis software and report data to the internal data warehouse
- Document experiments in an electronic lab notebook
- Update project teams with assay results
- Order, prepare, and/or maintain reagents and consumables needed to perform assays
- Maintain cell lines to support genome editing, assay development, and assay deliveries
- Follow established experimental design and protocols to perform routine tasks and studies
- Effectively troubleshoot equipment and experimental difficulties
Requirements: - Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry or a related field OR
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of scientific experience OR
- Associate's degree and 4 years of scientific experience OR
- High school diploma / GED and 6 years of scientific experience
- Strong hands-on lab skills and discipline
- Mammalian cell culture experience
- Comfortable running established assays and following SOPs accurately and consistently
- Dependable, hard-working, reliable, and organized
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate progress and issues clearly
Pay range: up to $28.85 per hour
