Job Description
Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Business/Systems Analyst to support its Data Management Program. The selected candidate will work with a small, collaborative team that follows Agile practices to deliver data-driven solutions and support business objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on SQL development skills, experience with source-to-target data mapping, and a solid background in business and systems analysis. This role requires the ability to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, translate business requirements into technical specifications, and analyze complex datasets to support reporting, data integration, and data management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to design and implement efficient data integration processes.
- Develop, maintain, and document source-to-target (S2T) mappings, including data fields, transformation rules, and integration requirements.
- Develop and execute complex SQL queries to analyze, validate, and reconcile data.
- Gather and document business requirements, develop user stories, and define acceptance criteria.
- Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and system requirements.
- Perform root cause analysis of system issues and investigate complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
- Support reporting and data warehouse requirements development.
- Plan and execute system testing, data validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Reconcile data and analyze test results to ensure system functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to troubleshoot issues, resolve defects, and validate solutions.
- Prepare and maintain system documentation, design specifications, user manuals, and other project deliverables.
- Participate in Agile team activities and collaborate with business partners to deliver effective data management solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience developing complex SQL queries; hands-on SQL expertise is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in source-to-target mapping, data integration analysis, and related documentation.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience gathering requirements and developing user stories.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience translating business requirements into technical specifications.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience performing systems root cause analysis and analyzing complex datasets.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in system testing, data reconciliation, result analysis, and user acceptance testing.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data quality tools and frameworks.
- Knowledge of business intelligence (BI) platforms and reporting solutions.
- Experience with data governance, data security, and privacy policies.
- Understanding of different data modeling concepts.
- Experience gathering and refining dashboard requirements.
- Experience conducting gap analysis and cost-benefit analysis.
- Ability to create technical documentation, user manuals, and training materials.
- Experience mentoring and training users on business and systems analysis methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and team-building skills.
