Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain SOPs, procedures, runbooks, system documentation, support guides, and knowledge-base articles.

  • Create process maps, workflows, diagrams, and technical visuals using Microsoft Visio.
  • Use Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Maintain consistent formatting, terminology, version control, document ownership, and review dates.
  • Work with Business Analysts to turn requirements, process information, and discovery findings into final documentation.
  • Review documents with SMEs, incorporate feedback, and verify technical accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain documentation templates, standards, naming conventions, and document management processes.
  • Organize documentation so it is easy to find, update, and maintain.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field, OR equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated technical-writing experience producing professional documentation for complex IT or technology environments.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365, especially Word and SharePoint, plus Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and related collaboration tools.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Visio for technical diagrams, workflows, process maps, and supporting visuals.
  • Demonstrated experience producing SOPs, runbooks, system documentation, operational procedures, knowledge articles, or comparable technical deliverables.
  • Strong editing, information-architecture, document-organization, formatting, and quality-control skills.
  • Ability to work directly with technical SMEs across infrastructure, applications, service delivery, cybersecurity, or similar IT disciplines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC), ITIL Foundation, or comparable technical-writing/IT certification.
  • Experience documenting cybersecurity, infrastructure, incident response, disaster recovery, business continuity, or IT service-management environments.
  • Experience with documentation recovery, knowledge-management, or large-scale documentation-standardization initiatives.
  • Experience designing and administering SharePoint-based documentation libraries, templates, metadata, and lifecycle practices.
