Summary

Digital products play a central role in how we create value for customers, support our teams, and enable better decisions across Coca-Cola's North America Operating Unit.

Our Product and Engineering organizations bring together small, empowered teams that combine engineering, product, design, and data expertise to solve meaningful problems and deliver measurable business outcomes.

As a Senior Software Engineer, Financial Planning & Performance, you'll serve as the technical lead on a product team building capabilities that support how our business plans, forecasts, understands performance, and makes financial decisions.

This is an opportunity to apply modern engineering to a fascinating set of challenges where complex business logic, data, and user experience intersect. You'll help shape the technical direction, explore new possibilities, and build reliable, intuitive products that make sophisticated financial processes easier to navigate.

We're looking for an engineer who is equally comfortable discussing architecture, exploring a problem with users, challenging an assumption, and getting hands-on to build a great solution.

This role is for engineers who want to shape what gets built, not just how it gets implemented.

What You Will Work On

Financial planning is about much more than numbers. It brings together complex business relationships, assumptions, financial models, workflows, and data to help teams understand performance and make decisions.

You'll help engineer products supporting customer and commercial financial planning, forecasting, scenario analysis, and performance insights. The work offers opportunities to solve challenging problems across modern application development, financial data models, business logic, enterprise integrations, and intuitive user experiences.

You'll collaborate across Product, Design, Data, Architecture, and Engineering to explore how cloud technologies, automation, advanced analytics, and emerging capabilities can create more effective ways of working.

You'll have the opportunity to influence technical decisions from the earliest stages of discovery, develop scalable solutions, and establish strong engineering practices that enable products to continuously evolve.

How We Work

You'll be part of a dedicated, cross-functional product team that is:
  • Empowered to solve problems, not just build features
  • Accountable for outcomes, not just output
  • Collaborative by default, from discovery through delivery
  • Continuously learning, using data and user insight to improve

Engineering is an equal partner in product decisions. We expect engineers to bring ideas, challenge assumptions, explore possibilities, and help shape solutions from the earliest stages of discovery.

Key Responsibilities

Partner in Product Discovery & Solution Shaping
  • Work closely with Product Management, Design, and Data to understand user needs, business workflows, and the problems we're solving
  • Bring a strong technical perspective to discovery, including ideation, prototyping, experimentation, and evaluation of alternative approaches
  • Explore how existing platform capabilities, modern technologies, and thoughtful engineering can create better solutions
  • Challenge assumptions and propose approaches that simplify complexity, improve experiences, and deliver meaningful value
  • Help teams make informed decisions by balancing user needs, business value, technical feasibility, and long-term considerations

Lead Technical Direction & Architecture
  • Define and guide the technical approach, architecture, and system design for your team's products
  • Design scalable, maintainable solutions across applications, services, APIs, enterprise integrations, and supporting platforms
  • Partner with SAP specialists, architects, and other engineering teams to understand platform capabilities, constraints, and integration opportunities
  • Evaluate when to leverage existing enterprise capabilities, extend platforms, or build complementary applications and services
  • Apply modern architectural principles to create modular, secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions
  • Make pragmatic trade-offs between speed, scalability, performance, complexity, maintainability, and cost

Own Engineering Quality & Outcomes
  • Provide hands-on engineering leadership through solution design, development, code reviews, testing, and complex technical problem-solving
  • Build and deliver high-quality, production-grade software using modern engineering tools and practices
  • Establish strong practices for automated testing, CI/CD, observability, security, and operational reliability
  • Ensure solutions meet appropriate standards for transactional integrity, data accuracy, traceability, and performance
  • Use product performance, user feedback, and operational insights to continuously improve solutions
  • Balance iterative delivery with long-term technical health, including proactive management of technical debt

Elevate Engineering Craft & Collaboration
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance that strengthens engineering skills, judgment, and confidence
  • Foster a culture of ownership, curiosity, constructive challenge, and continuous learning
  • Collaborate with engineering leads, architects, and platform teams to share knowledge and develop reusable approaches
  • Contribute to engineering standards, practices, and tools that improve quality and effectiveness across teams
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and the development of strong engineering talent

What We're Looking For
  • Strong engineering fundamentals: Deep understanding of software design, modern architectures, and building reliable production systems
  • Full-stack technical fluency: Ability to guide development across user experiences, back-end services, APIs, and integrations
  • Data and analytical thinking: Comfort working with complex data models, transformations, calculations, and data-intensive applications
  • Product mindset: Genuine curiosity about users, business problems, and the outcomes technology can enable
  • Technical leadership: Sound judgment, hands-on expertise, and the ability to guide decisions without relying on formal authority
  • Collaborative approach: Enjoys working across disciplines and finding better solutions through shared exploration

Key Qualifications
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including building and shipping production-grade applications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Equivalent practical experience is equally valued
  • Strong proficiency in modern programming languages, frameworks, and full-stack application development
  • Experience designing and building APIs, distributed services, and cloud-based applications
  • Experience engineering data-intensive applications, including data modeling, integration, processing, and performance considerations
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound architectural decisions and balance short-term delivery with long-term maintainability
  • Experience with modern engineering practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and security
  • Track record of technical leadership, including guiding solution design, reviewing code, and mentoring engineers
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building enterprise products supporting financial planning, forecasting, performance management, or related business processes
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, scenario planning, forecasting calculations, or analytical applications
  • Experience with modern cloud data platforms, data pipelines, and enterprise data integrations
  • Experience developing analytical interfaces, data visualizations, or complex workflow applications
  • Experience working in cross-functional product teams and contributing to product discovery
  • Experience applying automation, AI, or advanced analytics to data-intensive products

Who Thrives Here

Engineers who:
  • Love solving hard problems and finding elegant solutions in complex environments
  • Are curious about users and the business outcomes their products enable
  • See established enterprise platforms as interesting engineering challenges rather than limitations
  • Enjoy collaborating, exploring alternatives, and challenging assumptions
  • Bring modern engineering thinking while remaining pragmatic about the realities of enterprise technology
  • Take pride in building great software, developing other engineers, and creating lasting value
