We are seeking a senior ERP Business Analyst / Functional Lead to join our project implementation and delivery team supporting a growing food supply and distribution company as it evaluates and implements a new cloud based ERP platform.
This role will serve as the primary ERP Functional Lead on the project, working directly with executive leadership and operational teams to guide requirements gathering, ERP vendor evaluation, and implementation planning. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in ERP transformation within distribution or food supply chain environments, with the ability to translate complex operational workflows into scalable ERP solutions.
The consultant will help drive the process from ERP discovery through system selection, configuration support, and implementation oversight.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead ERP discovery and requirements workshops with cross functional stakeholders including finance, sales, procurement, logistics, and operations
- Document current state business processes and translate them into detailed ERP functional requirements
- Develop process maps and workflow documentation across key operational areas including
- procurement and supplier management inventory and warehouse operations order management and fulfilment logistics and international shipping financial operations and reporting
- Support the cloud ERP vendor evaluation process, including requirements validation, vendor demonstrations, and platform comparison such as NetSuite, Acumatica, or similar mid market ERP solutions
- Partner with leadership to design future state business processes and ERP architecture
- Provide functional guidance during ERP configuration, data migration planning, and integration strategy
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reporting visibility (BI), and system scalability
- Collaborate with technical teams on ERP integrations, including EDI connections with trading partners, logistics providers, and customers, as well as other SaaS platforms
- Act as the primary functional liaison between business stakeholders, ERP vendors, and implementation partners
Required Experience
- 7 10+ years of experience supporting ERP implementations as a Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, or ERP Solution Lead
- Demonstrated experience leading ERP discovery, requirements gathering, and vendor selection processes
- Hands on experience with NetSuite strongly preferred; experience with Acumatica or Microsoft Dynamics is also valuable
- Strong understanding of distribution, supply chain, and inventory driven business models
- Experience supporting EDI workflows and integrations including orders, invoices, shipping notices, and trading partner integrations
- Proven ability to facilitate executive and operational stakeholder workshops
- Experience translating business operations into ERP functional specifications and implementation plans
- Preferred Experience
- Experience in food distribution, seafood import/export, perishables, or cold chain supply chains
- Familiarity with multi entity accounting, international trade operations, and inventory traceability
- Experience supporting ERP data migration, system integrations, and go live planning
- Background working in consulting or client facing ERP advisory roles
- Understanding of how AI capabilities within ERP platforms can drive operational efficiency and smarter decision making
Location Requirement
Preference for candidates located in the Greater Chicago area who can attend occasional in person workshops in Oakbrook, IL during key discovery and implementation phases.
