Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid – 1 Day in a Month)
Job Type: Contract

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist to design, develop, and deploy AI/ML and Generative AI solutions for complex business problems. This role collaborates with business, product, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-impact data science solutions aligned with enterprise goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and deploy AI/ML models, products, and tools.
Develop LLM and RAG-based solutions.
Optimize code and ensure model performance and scalability.
Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams.
Lead model evaluation, tuning, and deployment.
Utilize AWS services (Bedrock, Lambda, Kendra, SageMaker).
Identify gaps, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions.
Mentor junior team members and drive best practices.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).
8+ years of experience in Data Science / Machine Learning.
Strong experience with LLM, Generative AI, and RAG.
Strong engineering skills and code optimization.
Hands-on experience with AWS stack (Bedrock, Lambda, Kendra, SageMaker).
Expertise in statistical modeling, ML algorithms, and data analysis.
Strong SQL and communication skills.
Self-driven with strong problem-solving ability.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Agentic AI.
Knowledge of MLOps and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
Experience with vector databases for RAG.
Familiarity with data engineering tools (Spark, pipelines).
Experience in Agile/SAFe environments.
