CNC Programmer

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to support precision machining operations by developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for complex manufactured components. This role is responsible for converting engineering drawings and CAD models into efficient machining processes while improving productivity, quality, and overall manufacturing performance.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of CNC machining, tooling, fixture design, and CAM programming. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and tooling teams to support new product launches, troubleshoot machining issues, and drive continuous process improvements. Experience with any modern CAM software is preferred, including EdgeCAM, ESPRIT, GibbsCAM, Mastercam, Siemens NX, Fusion 360, or similar platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining centers using CAM software.
  • Develop machining strategies that maximize efficiency, accuracy, and tool performance.
  • Design or recommend fixtures and workholding solutions that ensure repeatable setups and part quality.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T, and technical specifications to develop machining processes.
  • Analyze machining issues and quality concerns, identify root causes, and implement programming or process improvements.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing cycle times, minimizing scrap, improving tool life, and increasing productivity.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and tooling teams to support manufacturability and new product introductions.
  • Assist with evaluating equipment, tooling, and fixturing needs to support manufacturing capabilities.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to CNC machinists and operators on programming, setups, and machining processes.
  • Maintain accurate CNC program documentation and support standardized manufacturing practices.
