Role Overview

The Associate Digital Product Manager will support the development and enhancement of digital banking platform capabilities for American Express. The role requires collaboration with engineering, compliance, and business teams to design, build, and deliver scalable financial technology solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance and data integrity.

The ideal candidate combines strong product management expertise with knowledge of digital banking ecosystems, data analytics, and technical integration frameworks.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive product development initiatives for the digital banking platform.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to architect, develop, and deliver scalable software solutions.

  • Define and document product capabilities, features, and user stories with acceptance criteria.

  • Break down complex product requirements into actionable deliverables for cross-functional teams.

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, data privacy standards, and internal governance policies.

  • Work closely with engineering, compliance, marketing, and data teams to align product strategy and delivery.

  • Translate raw data into structured insights for data scientists and business architects.

  • Support API integrations and data pipelines used across digital banking systems.

  • Analyze data using SQL and other tools to drive product decisions and performance insights.

  • Participate in Agile / SAFe product development processes, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and product reviews.

  • Manage shifting priorities while maintaining delivery timelines and product quality.


Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in Product Management, preferably within banking or financial services.

  • Experience delivering digital banking or fintech products.

  • Strong understanding of banking regulations, compliance, and data privacy requirements.

  • Experience writing product capabilities, features, and user stories with acceptance criteria.

  • Ability to break down complex business problems and propose scalable solutions.

  • Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.


Technical Skills

  • SQL / PL-SQL (ability to write complex data queries)

  • Data literacy: databases, data ingestion pipelines, and analytics concepts

  • API knowledge and experience with system integrations

  • Familiarity with JSON / XML

  • Basic understanding of Python or other scripting languages

  • Experience working with Cloud Platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure)

  • Understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Agile product delivery
