Video Production Engineer

A client of TEKsystems is seeking a technically skilled and solutions-oriented Video Production Engineer to support our team of producers, editors and motion graphic designers. This role is essential to ensuring the ongoing technical excellence of our video productions and live events. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, problem-solving ability and a collaborative mindset that thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment.
JOB DUTIES:
Provide forward-looking technical engineering guidance for the team, proactively assessing needs, shaping system approaches and ensuring scalable, reliable solutions.
Oversee the organization, long-term storage, and retrieval workflows of the team's digital media archive, ensuring all assets are properly cataloged, version-controlled, and easily accessible for ongoing and future productions.
Stay current with AV technology trends and recommend equipment upgrades, workflow improvements and new tools that enhance production capabilities.
Provide technical engineering support for video productions and live events, including setup, operation, troubleshooting and teardown of cameras, lighting, audio, switching and control systems.
Maintain and optimize AV equipment including cameras, lenses, audio gear, lighting instruments, grip equipment, switchers, encoders and studio infrastructure.
Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and independently during shoots, edits and live events to minimize downtime and maintain production quality.
Ensure compliance with corporate standards including safety, legal, brand, information security and equipment handling requirements.
Support studio and facility operations by managing equipment inventory, performing routine maintenance and coordinating repairs or vendor service.

This is a Contract position based out of Peoria, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
