Operations Specialist. 6 12 Month engagement. Downtown Chicago location with mandatory 3 days per week in the office.
Client is DRW Trading (not to be shared, but so you don t target people from there) They will be part of a major Product Development team within the client that Builds, Supports and Operates Software on a Layer 1 Blockchain designed for regulated financial markets.
Qualifications
5 10 years of experience in operations, financial operations, finance, accounting, or related role
Strong financial proficiency; experience with reconciliations and forecasting
Experience in financial markets, trading firms, or regulated environments preferred
Blockchain or digital asset knowledge is a plus, not required
Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
Self-starter able to manage multiple priorities and execute independently
Role Overview
Client is seeking an Operations Specialist (Contractor) to support and back up the Head of Business Operations. This role spans business operations, financial operations, documentation, and internal coordination. The ideal candidate is highly organized, financially proficient, and able to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
This is not a product development role. It supports the back office behind the product development process.
Key Areas
Business & Operational Support
Act as a primary backup to the Head of Business Operations
Support senior-level internal and external operational communications
Coordinate with strategy, engineering, and infrastructure teams
Financial Operations
Maintain books and records related to product operations
Perform reconciliations across operational, financial, and on-chain activity
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial projections
Track actuals versus projections and assist with variance analysis
Process Documentation & Knowledge Management
Document existing operational procedures and institutional knowledge
Build and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and process documentation
Create and maintain a centralized wiki and operational glossary
Tracking & Reporting
Track validator-related activities and operational workflows
Maintain structured reporting for management visibility
Training & Coverage
Assist with onboarding, training, and operational backfilling
Provide continuity during absences or transitions
