Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Director AI/ML Engineering in Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute the organization's AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation strategy
* Lead the design, delivery, and optimization of AI-powered products, services, and business solutions
* Drive adoption of generative AI, intelligent automation, and advanced analytics capabilities across the enterprise
* Build and maintain scalable AI/ML platforms, engineering frameworks, and operational processes
* Establish governance, security, compliance, and responsible AI practices for AI solutions
* Partner with product, engineering, data, and business leaders to define priorities and deliver measurable business outcomes
* Lead AI platform integration efforts across customer-facing and internal business systems
* Develop and oversee AI engineering roadmaps, budgets, performance metrics, and delivery objectives
* Champion engineering best practices, including Agile development, testing, automation, and continuous improvement
* Manage and mentor high-performing engineering teams, fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional growth
* Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to enhance customer experiences, employee productivity, and operational efficiency
* Ensure reliability, scalability, performance, and monitoring standards are maintained across AI solutions

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field
* 10+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, data science, software engineering, or related technical disciplines
* 5+ years of experience leading and developing technical teams
* Proven experience delivering AI, machine learning, automation, or advanced analytics solutions in production environments
* Experience with generative AI technologies, large language models, and AI-powered application development
* Experience implementing modern software development practices, including Agile and DevOps methodologies
* Strong understanding of machine learning engineering, AI platforms, data pipelines, and model operations
* Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
* Demonstrated success driving innovation, strategic initiatives, and large-scale technology programs

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
