Job Summary
Set up, test, and analyze test results of motors/systems to Agency specifications as well as assist with updating and fabrication of automated test equipment in an ISO 17025 Accredited Test Lab.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Perform automated and manual tests on electric motors to determine proper design and function.

  • Assist with lab maintenance that includes calibrating test equipment and organizing lab stations to 6S standards.

  • Prepare thermocouple wire for applications to motors (roll, strip, and weld)

  • Attach thermocouple wire to motors to measure temperature

  • Unbox and check motors into the lab

  • Lift motors (up to 50 pounds) and secure them in a test fixture for testing

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Engineering, completed or in process, or 2 years related experience with electrical mechanical devices

  • Desire to learn new processes and systems

  • Ability to make spreadsheets and graphs

  • Work as a supportive team member

  • Familiarity and ability to effectively use electronic test equipment - multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.

  • Good hands-on skills such as soldering and mechanical assembly

  • Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams

  • Good communication skills. (written and verbal)

  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills
