Summary
Project Manager – Airline Crew & Flight Operations Systems Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite / Travel Required)Engagement: Contract | W2 or C2C
The Opportunity
A leading aviation software organization is looking for a seasoned Project Manager to own end-to-end delivery of enterprise software implementations for major airline clients. You will be the single point of accountability for multi-workstream projects spanning crew management, flight operations, and scheduling platforms — working directly with airline executives and operations teams to drive successful outcomes.
If you thrive in complex, high-stakes delivery environments and understand how airlines actually operate, this role was built for you.
What You''ll Own
- Drive full lifecycle delivery of airline operations software implementations — from kickoff through go-live and hypercare
- Build and manage detailed project plans, resource schedules, and budgets while keeping stakeholders aligned on scope and milestones
- Serve as the primary interface between the software delivery team and airline customer organizations, including C-suite engagement
- Oversee integration workstreams connecting crew management systems, flight ops platforms, and third-party tools
- Run structured risk and issue management — identifying problems early and resolving them before they impact delivery
- Produce executive-level status reporting and facilitate steering committee meetings with client leadership
- Coordinate across Product, Engineering, and Support teams alongside external implementation partners
- Contribute to RFP/RFI responses and pre-sales activities including solution presentations and scoping workshops
- Lead change management efforts to ensure user adoption and operational readiness at go-live
What You Bring
- 7+ years of enterprise software implementation experience, with direct exposure to airline or aviation operations environments
- Hands-on knowledge of at least one operational domain: crew scheduling, crew tracking, flight planning, or ops control
- PMP certification (or equivalent) strongly preferred
- Solid command of project delivery frameworks — PMBOK, Agile, or hybrid approaches
- Proven track record managing C-level client relationships across complex, multi-month engagements
- Strong command of PM tooling: MS Project, Jira, Confluence, or comparable platforms
- Sharp communicator — comfortable running executive briefings and cross-functional working sessions alike
- Bachelor''s degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline
- Willingness to travel to client sites as project phases require
Nice to Have
- Prior experience at an airline operations software vendor (e.g., Jeppesen, IBS, Sabre AirCentre, Lufthansa Systems, AIMS)
- Exposure to IATA standards, FAA/EASA crew legality rules, or airline union agreements
- Experience supporting pre-sales or bid management in a software product company
Why Apply
You will work on mission-critical systems that keep aircraft flying and crews legal — at scale, for real airlines. The work is visible, the stakeholders are senior, and the domain expertise you build here is genuinely rare in the market.
