Summary

Sr. Unix Administrator

FedTec is seeking a Senior Unix Administrator to support mission-critical operations for a federal client, focusing on secure and compliant UNIX environments. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining Solaris and Red Hat Linux systems, ensuring adherence to stringent DoD security and compliance standards.

Location: Montgomery, AL/Mechanicsburg, PA/Oklahoma City, OK/Ogden UT

Certification: CompTIA Security+

Clearance: Secret or higher

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all security/compliance functions for Solaris AND Red Hat Linux environments to monitor and mitigate vulnerabilities and ensure compliance within specified timelines.
  • Perform back-up/recovery functions for Solaris AND Linux server environment.
  • Perform hardware and software technology refreshes, ensuring milestone compliance while coordinating with MPs to minimize disruptions.
  • Manage and maintain currently supported and subsequent UNIX-based Operating Systems (OS) on physical and virtual operating environments, providing technical oversight and consultation services.
  • Work with and manage Incident Management tickets within the help desk ticketing system.
  • Provide technical support for disaster recovery efforts.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of systems administration experience on UNIX operating systems Linux, Solaris, or HP-UX.
  • Experience with Disaster recovery and data replication.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting, tuning, and patching experience.
  • Experience with administration, configuration, and troubleshooting experience with UNIX Server Cluster, Load Balancing, and Virtualization.
  • Certifications: DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II
