DBA - Mid Oracle & SQL - Secret

Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a Mid-Level Oracle & SQL Server Database Developer/Administrator. The Mid-Level Oracle & SQL Server Database Developer/Administrator supports the administration, tuning, modernization, and maintenance of Oracle 19c, Oracle 12c, and Microsoft SQL Server databases deployed both on-premises and within Azure cloud environments. This role ensures reliable data operations, optimizes performance, and assists with database and application migration initiatives across hybrid architectures. Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain Oracle 19c/12c and SQL Server databases, schemas, and configurations across Azure and hybrid environments.
  • Perform performance tuning, diagnose and resolve issues for both Oracle and SQL Server, and support high-availability and mission-critical workloads.
  • Implement, monitor, and validate backup and recovery strategies, including Oracle RMAN, Data Guard, and SQL Server backup/restore and HA/DR configurations.
  • Support database refactoring, upgrades, patching, and migrations from on-premises Oracle or SQL Server environments to Azure IaaS/PaaS solutions such as Azure SQL and managed SQL Server VMs.
  • Collaborate with ETL, reporting, and data quality teams to ensure accurate and reliable data flows across multiple database platforms.
  • Utilize Azure-native tools for monitoring, logging, automation, and security of Oracle and SQL Server workloads.
  • Support batch processes, integrations, and application components interacting with multi-platform database environments.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Knowledge of 8140 Cyber Security Compliance requirements and secure database administration practices.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle 19c/12c including SQL/PL-SQL development, tuning, troubleshooting, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, AWR reporting, and OEM/cloud monitoring.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server administration, T-SQL development, indexing, query tuning, job management, and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of Azure infrastructure components relevant to hosting Oracle and SQL Server workloads (VMs, networking, storage, identity).
  • Experience supporting modernization initiatives, schema optimization, stored procedures, query optimization, and data movement across Oracle and SQL Server environments.
  • Familiarity with automation and DevOps tools including Azure DevOps, PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Understanding of cloud security principles, identity and access management, encryption, and access control.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting migrations from Oracle and SQL Server into Azure SQL or other cloud-native platforms.
  • Exposure to cross-platform ETL, reporting, or modernization efforts in hybrid cloud environments.
  • Prior Army Contractor experience
  • Prior experience supporting Azure environment
