Job Title: POS Engineer
Work Location: Austin, TX/Remote

Education/Experience Required: 5+ years hands-on POS engineering experience, including deep expertise in NCR Aloha POS (CFC, BOH, FOH, peripherals)
Job Description : The POS Engineer is a technical expert responsible for the architecture, integration, and advanced support of NCR Aloha POS, while also providing engineering support across multiple restaurant technology platforms.
Responsibilities :

• Architect, deploy, and maintain NCR Aloha POS environments (BOH/FOH, databases, replication)
• Provide escalation support for complex POS and peripheral hardware incidents
• Lead troubleshooting of POS peripherals including printers, KDS, terminals, and payment devices
• Design, build, and maintain integration layers between POS and platforms such as:
  • Olo online ordering and delivery aggregation
  • Workforce and scheduling tools (e.g., HotSchedules)
  • Delivery management platforms and providers
  • Loyalty and CRM systems
• Support and troubleshoot multiple POS platforms beyond Aloha, including:
  • Oracle MICROS / Simphony
  • Toast POS
  • Xenial/Genius
• Participate in POS upgrade, patching, and migration projects
• Develop and maintain documentation for POS architecture, integration flows, and recovery processes
• Collaborate with network, security, and infrastructure teams to maintain high availability and PCI-DSS compliance
• Mentor POS administrators and junior engineers on best practices and technical troubleshooting
• Support vendor escalation management and performance reviews

Qualifications:

• 5+ years hands-on POS engineering experience, including deep expertise in NCR Aloha POS (CFC, BOH, FOH, peripherals)
• Proven experience supporting multiple POS platforms and restaurant technology systems
• Strong knowledge of API/web service integrations and middleware
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues at scale
• Familiarity with PCI-DSS and secure POS system architectures
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale restaurant operations
