Job Description

The Process Engineer II is responsible for driving operational improvements through the development and implementation of process optimization initiatives. This includes standardizing procedures, applying statistical methodologies, and leading cross-functional project teams to enhance manufacturing performance.

Additional Information:

Day Shift: Monday - Friday 40 hours a week, working outside of normal hours may be required occasionally

This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans.

Responsibilities

  • Identify improvement opportunities in existing manufacturing operations, justify procedural changes or process modifications, and establish operating procedures for the plant to attain lower manufacturing costs, increased productivity, and reduced cycle times
  • Design, run, test, and upgrade systems and assess processes
  • Develop routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output
  • Conduct safety assessments to ensure safe practices
  • Improve and create process documentation, training, and standard operating procedures
  • Optimize processes to attain lower manufacturing costs, increased productivity, and reduced cycle times
  • Lead tactical site-level projects and contribute to regional and divisional projects
  • Identify, communicate, and overcome obstacles that may prohibit meeting production requirements
  • Improve complex processes by partnering with operating employees in various departments to collect, analyze, and implement results via training or capital expenditure recommendations
  • Oversee contractor partnerships

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have a bachelor's degree or higher or at least four (4) years of work experience in engineering
  • Must have at least two (2) years of work experience in a manufacturing, distribution, operations function or have completed a Sherwin-Williams Development Program in an Engineering function
  • Must have at least two (2) years of work experience in an engineering function
  • Must have completed formal training in and/or have at least one (1) year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have a bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering
  • Have at least three (3) years of work experience in an engineering function
  • Have working knowledge of control systems and common process equipment (pumps, compressors, etc.)
