Data Architect, Product Modernization

Join Merkle’s Adobe Practice and help enterprise brands modernize the data foundations behind their digital experiences. This is an opportunity to tackle complex transformation challenges, influence future-state architecture, and build scalable solutions across Adobe Experience Platform, Analytics, Content, and Commerce.

Responsibilities

  • Provide deep experience to build data solutions across multiple Adobe products and cloud platforms aligned with enterprise data strategy.
  • Engage closely with customers and Adobe team to facilitate data discovery by evaluating systems and business processes.
  • Unify disparate data sources to meet customers’ digital marketing use cases.
  • Showcase and follow frameworks for data quality, define standards, master data management, data services, data governance, data modeling, tools, data security, privacy, and compliance.
  • Drive end-to-end data migration initiatives, transforming and migrating large-scale datasets while maintaining data quality, integrity, and compliance.
  • Assess platform maturity and identify redesign opportunities prior to modernization.
  • Design data models across Analytics, Content, and Commerce domains.
  • Develop data ingestion pipelines across various data sources.
  • Support end-to-end modernization migrations, preserving metric definitions, historical accuracy, and data integrity.
  • Develop validation and reconciliation documentation for legacy-vs-modern platform comparisons.

Requirements

Core Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on data architecture, data modeling, SQL development, and analytics platform experience.
  • Expert proficiency in crafting customer-centric database models and datasets.
  • Demonstrated experience auditing, assessing, and documenting data components.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with Adobe Experience Platform.
  • Knowledge of identity resolution, data privacy frameworks, and API-first integration patterns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.

Nice to Have

  • Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) in CJA or AEP Data Architect.
  • Hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Platform for Content or Commerce.
  • Experience with Analytics-to-CJA migration patterns and metric mapping best practices.
  • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices.
  • Track record of presenting modernization audits and migration strategies to stakeholders.
