Role Summary:
Due to strategic expansion, Our Client is seeking to appoint a highly skilled Lead DevOps Engineer. This pivotal role is integral to advancing their cloud infrastructure and automation capabilities, supporting ongoing digital transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will have a significant impact by leading DevOps practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring seamless delivery of resilient and scalable solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of scalable cloud infrastructure using industry best practices.
- Oversee automation of deployment, configuration, and monitoring processes across environments.
- Collaborate with development teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and improve deployment efficiencies.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform.
- Enforce security standards and optimise system performance, reliability, and availability.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, promoting a DevOps culture across the organisation.
- Provide expert support for troubleshooting complex infrastructure and deployment issues.
- Drive innovation by researching and integrating emerging technologies and methodologies.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience working with AWS cloud services and architecture.
- Proven expertise in containerisation and orchestration tools, particularly Kubernetes.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, along with proficiency in automation and configuration management tools.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
- Knowledge of security principles related to cloud and infrastructure management.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience with other cloud providers such as Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
- Certification related to AWS, Kubernetes, or DevOps (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
- Experience with Python development for automation and tooling.
