Job Description
Our client is looking for a Desktop Support Technician to join their team. This team consists of 7 technicians providing tier 1-3 desktop support. This team handles the escalation of tickets from the service desk and provides remote support to all users across the entire U.S. They will also provide hands-on support for all the users on-site. The end user computing team works through three rotations:
  1. Imaging and deployments for new hires
  2. Ticket escalations from the service desk
  3. In-person deskside support for end users onsite.

Candidates will need to have prior experience deploying images for new hires utilizing a deployment tool such as Intune, SCCM, or the MDT Toolkit. A clear understanding
of the process and procedures that go into this aspect of the job will be important for any candidate to explain but also learn Maxim processes if hired. They will also need experience supporting and troubleshooting incidents within the M365 suite. Network configuration and connectivity incidents will also be frequent in this role.
Environment
  • Predominantly Microsoft environment with Lenovo laptops
  • Very small footprint w/Apple Mac devices
  • 8k+ Google Chromebooks placed in the field

Day to Day
  • Team tries to avoid silo work - works more on a rotation so that everyone stays fresh with all aspects of the team
  • Rotations:
    • Build Room - imaging
    • Work Room - hands on with devices, decommissioning work with older devices
    • Deployment Room - 30-40 computers per week, 100 Chromebooks per week
    • Corporate Campus - roam the campus, provide white glove service, hands-on troubleshooting issues

Additional Skills & Qualifications
A strong candidate will also possess the ability to communicate effectively while documenting incidents in ServiceNow or directly with a team member. Opportunity to work in a collaborative team-first environment. Candidates should be able to discuss their experience working on teams and/or projects, while also explaining the various processes and procedures that were in place in previous roles.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
