Data Analyst with Tableau Experience

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data & Insights Analyst to support the Office of Innovation’s idea portal and pipeline, managed through Qmarkets.

The analyst will own daily portal data integrity, weekly and monthly pipeline reporting, data analysis, and the development of automated dashboards and visual management tools that provide leadership with real-time visibility into portfolio health.

This role will help transition the organization from manual, static reporting toward automated, self-service analytics that can scale with a growing innovation pipeline.

The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable independently identifying data issues, trends, and insights and communicating them to leadership on a regular cadence.

Desired Experience & Skills

• 10+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, analytics, or operations/reporting roles

• Strong hands-on experience with Tableau and dashboard development

• Strong SQL and data analysis skills

• Experience with data automation and repeatable reporting processes

• Experience working with pipeline, CRM, portfolio, or idea-management data

• Strong critical-thinking and analytical problem-solving skills

• Ability to identify trends and independently surface actionable insights

• Strong data quality, QA/QC, and validation skills

• Experience building automated dashboards and reporting solutions

• Qmarkets or Smartsheet BI experience strongly preferred

• Ability to communicate findings clearly to leadership and stakeholders

• Proactive self-starter who can work independently

Key Responsibilities

Daily Portal & Pipeline Management

• Maintain daily portal data integrity and ensure ideas are assigned to the correct stage/state

• Ensure the live idea tracker matches portal data

• Manage new-idea intake, notifications, tracker entries, and owner assignments

• Partner with Qmarkets and the Operations Principal to maintain clean pipeline data

• Identify and resolve portal/data errors and maintain an issue log

• Track communications, action items, and follow-ups for active ideas

• Identify stalled ideas and escalate them to appropriate leadership

• Provide regular status updates covering new/changed ideas, open items, stalled ideas, and completed follow-ups

Reporting & Data Analysis

• Extract and analyze pipeline data on a weekly basis

• Report idea counts by stage/state and campaign

• Analyze campaigns including:

  • Ideate

  • Modernize

  • Funding

  • Strategic Initiative

  • Innovate

• Provide submitter and ownership statistics

• Expand monthly reporting to include OU distribution and thematic analysis

• Prepare reports using established templates and reporting standards

• Validate data accuracy before reports are finalized

• Surface trends, anomalies, and data-quality concerns to leadership

Dashboard Automation & Visual Management

• Build and maintain real-time dashboards using Tableau, Qmarkets, Smartsheet, or other BI tools

• Develop dashboards covering:

  • Campaign distribution

  • First-pass yield

  • Cycle time by stage/campaign

  • Overall portfolio health

  • On-track / At-risk / Off-track status

  • Additional leadership KPIs

• Automate weekly and monthly reporting processes

• Reduce reliance on manual data extraction and analysis

• Work with Qmarkets to automate real-time status reporting for ideas in implementation

• Develop scalable, self-service analytics and visualization solutions

Other Responsibilities

• Support portal administration as needed

• Assist with new campaign setup and committee review bodies

• Translate review criteria into portal scoring/voting processes

• Support education and news updates within the portal

• Participate in regular meetings with the Operations Principal, Innovation Director, Qmarkets, and OOI stakeholders

• Handle ad hoc data and reporting requests as required

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate combines strong Tableau/BI expertise, data analysis, reporting automation, and excellent communication skills. They should be comfortable working independently, maintaining data accuracy, developing executive-level dashboards, and proactively providing insights to leadership.
