Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Engineer for a hybrid position (3 days onsite per week required) with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and deploying Java applications for card issuance. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of supporting business processes and will work with partners to clarify requirements. This position also includes completing administrative and technical tasks related to compliance deliverables and infrastructure requests, ensuring technical security and risk activities are completed effectively.
Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications across backend and frontend layers
- Build and enhance Java/Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs
- Develop and integrate event-driven solutions using Kafka for real-time data processing
- Utilize Maven for build automation, dependency management, and deployment packaging
- Collaborate with UI teams to deliver responsive front-end components (React/Angular)
- Implement containerized solutions (Docker/OpenShift/Kubernetes) for scalable deployments
- Follow SDLC and Agile practices, including story refinement, estimation, and sprint delivery
- Conduct unit, integration, and performance testing, analyze results, and resolve defects
- Ensure application stability, performance, and resilience across environments
- Document and support deployment, release, and production support activities
Requirements: - 7+ years experience designing and developing RESTful services using Java, J2EE, Spring Core, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Oracle, Copilot
- Hands-on experience with unit testing frameworks like JUnit, Mockito
- Proficient in DevOps tools: Eclipse, Git/Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins, SonarQube
- Good understanding of application design patterns and Object-oriented programming
- Great communication skills - both oral and written
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Primary skills in Core Java and Spring Boot
- Tertiary skill in ReactJS
Desired skills: - Financial Services expertise is highly desired
- Self driven, generalist, innovative, result-oriented, motivating, leadership, and Project management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (both to a technical and non-technical audience)
- Experience working with Servers, Vulnerabilities and Software patches
- Understanding or working experience with SDLC/Agile teams and utilizing JIRA & Confluence
